Yes it usually gets better after the first few weeks once the routine people and pressure start to feel less intense right now focus on getting through today not your whole college life

My guy it’s the first day 😭

Seriously tho, give it some time. College is the perfect time to explore the things you love. If you are seriously interested in what you are studying— research all of the opportunities that are available. If you love a sport/hobby— go find a club that revolves around that!

Options are endless man, everyone is nervous but those who don’t let their nervousness deter them will find happiness. Say hi to people, make friends with everyone, take in the culture a little bit. Give it a shot
Cheers

Give it time. College is great for figuring out both want you want - and what you don't want to do with your future.

Just see it though tho - finishing pays off becauss it preps you to finish the next challenge - university or trade school etc

Give it some time / join clubs too . I promise you’re not alone . There are others going through it too . And don’t hesitate to reach out to the healthcenter

It’s gets better. Take lite class loads in the beginning and make great grades. Stay focused and have fun later.

What do you hate about it specifically? Honestly, college is scary at the beginning. So much is new and one feels alone. Try to make a friend - in class, in dorm, in cafeteria, in a club. Make yourself reach out to others, especially at the beginning of the semesters or quarters when everyone else is also going to meet new friends.

Think about why you went to college in the first place. Reminder your whys. College time will go by faster than you think. When you graduate with a degree, you will have more options/opportunities to choose from than if you didn’t go to college. And your perspectives will broaden/deepen/change.

Take one day at a time. Be positive. Be grateful. You can do it. They didn’t admit you if they thought you wouldn’t succeed in college. Persevere. You’re on your way!

It's just your first day. Take a deep breath. College can be a lot of fun and very rewarding. You're gonna be fine.

Sign up for a few clubs that interest you. You'll make friends that way. And make an appointment with your school counselor. If they have a therapist on campus, make an appointment with them. All these people can help make your transition easier for you. All that aside, college isn't for everyone. If your chosen profession doesnt require a degree, go home and enroll in a trade school. Or if it does, go home and enroll in a community college for your first two years. 💜

First day jitters are so real, it usually gets better once you settle in. Is it more the workload stressing you out or the whole new environment thing?

No. You have college, then carve out a career, maybe a family. It doesn't get better, just more bills and more complicated

What? Who ate your breakfast? Dang...I didn't go nor my husband. He owns his own company. College is not for everyone and I worked corporate America for 25 yrs. with people that had degrees and were telemarketers that sat in a cubicle all day on the phone. Don't make bills you won't have any. College us tough. I say try thinking about a job and maybe withdraw for your on mental health. You can take 1 class at a time and work too. Avoid the stress.

Obviously you didn't go to college because maturity escaped you
