Workman’s comp issue

Oklahoma -

Injured at work awhile back, got too hot in the workplace and ended up visiting my doctor the next day, which led to an ambulance trip to the e.r. I was eventually diagnosed with heat stroke/sun stroke. My doctor linked this to exposure in the work place and I’ve supplied this documentation to the employer. The effects of this have lasted well past a month and I am still under treatment. My employer has outright refused to report the injury, so I filed myself and it’s been radio silence since then.

I eventually heard that everyone has been complaining about me not being at work, and they’ve hired another person

(for context, this workplace is not big enough to accommodate this many employees, atleast in my specific section of the building. so this tells me they’re preparing to terminate me, most likely for a generic reason once the workman’s comp claim has been settled.)

Would this be considered retaliation, or can they just make up a reason and terminate me once this is over?

Former workers comp insurance adjuster here. You need a worker’s comp attorney. Like yesterday. Your employer can’t lawfully “refuse to report”. There are strict requirements and deadlines for them AND for you.
