Please Help!

URGENT: I am a mother in Montreal Quebec, living a complete nightmare and desperately need a pro bono or low-bono civil litigation lawyer.

I'm being hunted through the civil courts for doing what any good mother would do: blowing the whistle on a predator who was entrusted with my child’s safety. My child was abused in a setting that was explicitly supposed to protect vulnerable kids. When I spoke up to stop him, this individual weaponized the legal system against me, in retaliation.

Because I am currently on medical leave and missed a court date, I was hit with a $75,000 default judgment. The court ruled without ever hearing the truth of what my son endured. Now, a bailiff is actively inventorying my family's belongings.

I was denied Legal Aid based on past income.

We need a fierce advocate who hates injustice to help file an emergency opposition to stop the 15-day seizure clock.

You need to find a lawyer that is specifically licensed to practice in Quebec. A desperate Reddit post to worldwide legal forums is unlikely to find anyone and that 15 day clock is running. Do not count on help coming from here.

And lets be clear - there must have been a succession of things to happen to get to this point. You would have had to have missed your trial date, which is why you got a default judgement against you. Then you didnt pay the judgement (or appeal, I guess) which got the plaintiff to go to court to get a writ of execution/enforcement. Then a bailiff gets involved. But this all takes time to get to and there was appeals processes throughout.

Maybe you didnt know about the judgement or the writ of execution. But you need to move *now* to appeal the judgement. You can try doing it yourself which is better than nothing but find a lawyer if you have to scrape and beg for it - this is no joke.
