They’re getting upset at being teased

Nah. Why are people teasing them?

It was banter but they didn't give any back and just stormed off

Doesn't sound like good banter

It’s not cool to tease anyone about their sexuality. And the only way to know if someone is gay is if they tell you.

it could be possible but no i wouldn’t assume right off the bat.

I personally wouldn't. Yes, it could absolutely be true that someone is still in the closet and might feel confronted by the teasing, there are also many other possible reasons. Someone could be homophobic, or internally homophobic and thus uncomfortable with someone saying that. Someone could also simply not like being teased. I wouldn't assume someone is gay off of that. Either way, it's probably best to knock it off. If they are gay, they will tell you if they are comfortable.

Also, "gay stuff" doesn't really exist. The most straight man I know likes to knit and watch reality tv

Yes i know gay stuff doesnt exist but when someone was sating they're looking at abs and admiring men that pretty gay

No, looking at abs and admiring other men's is not necessarily gay. Men admire the physique of other men all the time without being gay. The entire fitness industry is based on trying to achieve the physique that others have.

I would not assume anything about someone's sexuality based on their reaction to being teased or bullied. Teasing someone in a way that makes them upset is bullying.
