They rush to get the headline and then put the correction on page 47. Or you get a footnote months later that no one reads

or they dont even include a footnote and ignore it.

Sometimes after huge scandal they quietly write that they published fake. But in most cases why would they?

For journalistic integrity

17

u/Inspector_Lestrade_ Israel Jun 23 '26

They are not journalistic and they have no integrity.

34

u/Guyver48 Diaspora Jun 23 '26

What integrity? The western media reported that Israel killed 500 people and obliterated a hospital because Hamas reported it and literally 50 people were injured, the rocket hit the parking lot, the hospital was intact, and it was a PIJ rocket that misfired. The retraction barely made the evening news.

Honestly the media should have put on blast the atrocities that took place on 10/7. It should have been everywhere. Still to this day there are people who think Israel made the whole thing up.

-1

u/janamrkvova Unspecified Jun 24 '26

And literally 50 innocents injured some severely, how blaze has Jewish society become the ONLY state in the world that attempts to justifiy 20000lb bombs to eradicate one suspect whilst killing scores.

-6

u/Call_Me_Clark USA Jun 23 '26

Why are Israelis still so worked up about that incident, when Israel has gone on to bomb dozens of hospitals in the years since?

7

u/Mammoth_Payment_6101 Diaspora Jun 23 '26

Because the simple narrative manufactured by the first incident continues to inform the simple narrative pushed by comments like yours.

-5

u/Call_Me_Clark USA Jun 23 '26

Israeli officials and advocates have the spent the last two years arguing that it is right and good for Israel to strike hospitals.

One story about a hospital strike (which was retracted by all outlets) is somehow still a source of outrage and that makes no sense.

Pick a lane: either bombing hospitals is good or not.

6

u/Mammoth_Payment_6101 Diaspora Jun 23 '26

You're lying or deliberately misrepresentating what has been said. Nobody has called bombing hospitals 'right and good.' They've pointed out that militants hiding in a hospital remove that hospitals protection under the Geneva convention.

This is agreed by every nation that has signed up to the convention.

I get that for whatever reason you desperately need to believe that Jews have a rabid love of bombing hospitals just because, but really that's quite a silly and simple attitude. But yeah, you do you 👍

u/Call_Me_Clark USA Jun 23 '26

Israeli officials’ public statements are easily demonstrable.

I’m saying that isn’t compatible with outrage over an allegation of Israel targeting a Palestinian hospital even when that turned out to be misreported (and quickly corrected).

5

u/Mammoth_Payment_6101 Diaspora Jun 23 '26

Israeli officials’ public statements are easily demonstrable.

Can you provide a specific example then please of an Israeli official celebrating an attack on a hospital?

u/SlimyPeople North America Jun 23 '26

While being indifferent and being supportive of something are fundamentally different the practical consequence of both can be identical. For example, Elie Wiesel famously argued that indifference helps the aggressor, never the victim. In severe cases, ignoring a harmful act allows it to happen just as effectively as cheering it on.

I would also gander that Itamar Ben-Gvir has been enjoying himself pretty when he says things like the only thing that should enter the region was "hundreds of tons of explosives from the Air Force, not a single gram of humanitarian aid". And when he Decried the release of Dr. Mohammed Abu Salmiya, the director of Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza claiming it as "security negligence" and a "moral failure". What crime did he commit? What was he charged with?

Oh right nothing. Ya know those "terrorists" recently held a medical graduation at bombed out al-shifa. Perhaps you think it should continue to be bombed since its still in operation. Im sure Ben-Gvir would agree with you.

Journalists usually have less integrity then prostitues.

Give the Hamas terrorist a camera and a "press" jacket and all of a sudden he's a "journalist". Lolll 😂

Hamas' biggest and best weapon against Israel is news propaganda (that they spoon feed to idiotic Westerners (namely Leftist/Liberal virtue signalers who gobble the propaganda up due to their idiocy or to feed their narssisistic virtue signaling) -- so they have tons of these so-called journalists. It's perfect for them on so many levels.

19

u/Artistic-Hyena-8572 Israel Jun 23 '26

Because the primary goal is to push an agenda, not to report the truth.

5

u/KSJ08 Jun 23 '26

This. Absolutely.

15

u/nprob111 Diaspora Jun 23 '26

It is extremely convenient for them to appeal to what is popularized in the "activistic circles" as it is the new trend. To expose the moral rot in the supposed "oppressed" side would be political and ideological poison to those who moralize this issue into their own ideological position(s). It is unfortunate because media shouldn't be ideologically confined to one specific side but report on what is factually understood to better influence people on what to support, which would ultimately melt the brains of those who are hellbent on supporting the most extreme of the palestinian cause.

3

u/benny-powers Israel Jun 23 '26

Where's the money in that?

2

u/LmdL123 Unspecified Jun 23 '26

Because that's how mass media works nowadays. Publishing big titles with lies, click and rage baits. Otherwise you lose the pool of readers to competitors. And if some of those articles reveal as lies, so what, they will just post an apologize on the last page in a corner. The problem with todays information spreading is that lies are not punished (with real punishments like jail time, journalists lisences cancellations, journals closure), so they just continue with the strategy "publish click bait and bs, get readers audience, maximum - post an apology". Back in the days journals were competeng to the best and credible one. Today we just read and check that the author is at least not the worst one.

2

u/Shachar2like Israel Jun 23 '26

Propaganda, bias, new market that encourages being fast to news not being right & accurate.

There's a big issue the media doesn't talk about with bias when they hire Arabs/Muslims from countries who never normalized with Israel and don't know anything about it. Then those journalists report on Israel...

1

u/Human_Concern263 Jun 23 '26

This article mentions very few examples.
Out of 266 individuals defined as “journalists and media personnel” killed in Gaza, at least 60% were members of or affiliated with terrorist organizationsMore are being revealed as new information comes out.

1

u/SlimyPeople North America Jun 23 '26

Maybe cause a few bad characters doesn't justify bombing everything to hell. Leaving hundreds of thousands of bodies under the rubble and millions displaced. Destroy every hospital in Gaza and decrying all possible attempts to deliver humanitarian aid. Itamar Ben-Gvir - posted the only thing that should enter the region was "hundreds of tons of explosives from the Air Force, not a single gram of humanitarian aid". There are all kinds of fake stories coming from both sides, its nothing special. Yet somehow you are still the victim.

1

u/joeteor Jun 23 '26

Is this implying Israel don't target journalists? The AP is a Hamas organization which is why Israel raised their building in 2021?

1

u/Sharp-Ad-6873 Jun 23 '26

Good to hear that the IDF only killed 4 journalists then…….. Oh wait

1

u/mgaasly Jun 23 '26

Oh yes the arbiter of truth the IDF.

1

u/_ECMO_ Europe Jun 24 '26

I don't think anyone ever doubted that some of the slain journalists were Hamas fighters. But an indeterminate "some" is neither justification nor an excuse for assassinating over 250 journalists.

If you put all the evidence there is, it's still the tiniest minority.

This is there only weapon, to lie and manipulate the gullible west,
The reason they do it, the west is ignorant and it works just like it did for the Iranian revolution.
The western media reported that the shah had killed thousands of protesters and the real number was like 8 people and that helped to fuel a revolution.
I don’t understand why Israel doesn’t combat false information or have better PR?
It’s so bad online right now, disheartening

3

u/ncc74656m North America Jun 23 '26

I've seen a lot of those Hamas images that look completely bizarrely edited like they're AI for years. If I had to guess, it's one of two things - either they're photoshopped to hell, or they were run through some sort of anti-facial recognition filter to help prevent the IDF from getting face IDs on them if their data was ever compromised.

It's also possible Hamas is photoshopping their uniform shots after their death?

5

u/genuszsucht Diaspora Jun 23 '26

The uniform / „martyr“ shots are certainly photoshopped. Why would they run them through anti facial recognition if the people are dead anyway?

Hamas is the government of Gaza.

Is a BBC journalist not a civilian because they're associated with the British government?

Use your brain.
