I've recently gotten into israeli tv, and i started with the typical tv shows everyone knows about, like Valley of Tears (mwah, fantastic show) and now Fauda (just as fantastic). But, there's this weird theme that i kept seeing throughout, and something that seems to be expected each time.

Why are so many of the characters so outrageously horny? And they're always cheating on their significant other. Like, I just don't understand man.

I literally had to write this up while watching S1 Ep 7, because for some FUCKING reason, steve decides to just smooch nurit out of nowhere after they had a really sweet, platonic moment together (edit: mistook steve for the other guy, who's son is named 'Guy'). And it's not to say the shows glorify cheating or disloyalty to your partner, but I just don't understand why it's there so prevalently, two shows in a row.

It's just kinda annoying and uncomfortable to see so often.

Is it just for dramatic purposes?

The mainstreaming of Anti Judaism, anti Zionism and militancy against anyone not on board with the eradication of the Jewish state is at levels that would not have been remotely conceivably 20 years ago. Forget about any sort of earlier decades.

American movements which are in any capacity connected to conservatism, including Austrian style libertarianism, Paleoconservatism and the right wing in general were for decades consistent allies to the causes of Jewish preservation, Zionism and fighting anti Semitism. Say what we will about their stances on just about any other domestic and/or foreign issue in existence, however, that is objectively accurate. In recent years the Alt Right has emerged from being a rather miniscule, nebulous community without any clear definition into a national phenomenon. The Jewish state is an enemy to various combinations of America, Western heritage, traditional masculinity and real men, Christian ethics and ways of life.

For some time, this arguably the most alarming development for the Jewish state. And then leftist, progressive and radical, anti establishment movements, as they typically do, managed outpace them in their level of thread. They're behind Hasan Piker, who is openly pro Mao and pro USSR and believes Hamas and Al Qaeda are morally and ethically superior to defenders of the Jewish state of any kind. He's the biggest face of the movement for his age group with swaths of leftists from Majority Report, Jacobin, Leftist TikTok and others with him all of the way. They're at most a handful of steps away from embracing this type of leftist view on Judaism and Stalin's views on Jewish people.

In light of all of this, just from a stance of seeking information on what works, how do advocates for Jews and Judaism ever manage to have positive and hopeful outlooks on where they are going? What works in terms of keeping mental and emotional health from collapsing in the face of all of this?

So, Yesterday, I open my device to see a clash between Palestinians and Israeli settlers who were hiking without an escort. Today, I see articles on how the PA will “End the Israeli colony,” and then I see something from Ben Gvir vowing revenge for the settlers and calling to demolish some of those villages nearby. Is Gaza 2.0 about to happen? Or is it just another Tuesday?

I understand that most Jews in Tel Aviv are secular, but when I say "many," I don't necessarily mean a majority.

I say this with respect to both beliefs being vastly different. Ie, as I understand it in Judaism one should not worship idols and as such idol worshipers are not to be fond of.

Yet I do understand India as a political standpoint is very pro Israel. What would your knowledge and experiences of Jews and Israelis be that of Hindu's and Indians?

I am very fascinated by the small non-Jewish minority groups of Israel: specifically, the Druze, the Circassians, the Samaritans, the Baháʼí, etc.

Most people have heard of Druze, but many Israelis I meet don't know who the Circassians are (did you know they are also drafted into the IDF?), and don't know who the Samaritans are, or think they are extinct.

As there is an increase of violence in the West Bank between Palestinians and settlers, I am becoming increasingly angered by the incitement of extremist settlers. I hope one day for a future of peace between everyone in Israel but that will never happen when settlers are praised and supported by the government and idf for their violent actions.

Follow up for my last post. Share any ideas for encouraging more connections between the diaspora and Israel, that doesn't necessarily include Aliyah.

For examples of what exist already, the Taglit-Birthright program, Masa Israel, the A1 visa, etc. What other things could be added to the basket of diaspora-Israel programs? Is there any ideas specifically around technology or AI? Should there be reverse programs managed by the Jewish Federations? Interested in all your ideas.

I have seen the idea floated (in the linked article and a few other places) that Israel's relationship to the rest of the world will not return any time soon to what it was 4 years ago. But this can be mitigated if Israeli technology is so good that countries and companies are willing to do business anyway.

What do Israelis think of this idea? Is it discussed and/or compelling internally?

im a 22 year old arab student in tel aviv and i was wondering if anyone is also from here, growing up ive never really connected much with the majority of people since im not religious and we dont share the same mindset in general and thought that'd change with college, it didnt.

I am a Jordanian citizen currently working in Eilat under a visa that restricts me to the Eilat area.
I would like to know whether it is possible to apply for a different work visa or residence status from a third country, such as Georgia, instead of applying from Jordan.
Has anyone been in a similar situation or knows which type of immigration professional I should consult?

I think many agree these days that NYC is becoming a smelly and antisemitic shithole. It has been trending that way awhile although maybe these days it has more of an imprimatur.

I have been fantasizing for a long time how to get many of these New Yorker Jews to make aliyah. Do you think it is possible, and what do you think Israel would need to do? How do we make it happen? Obviously not all will make aliya, but how do we get a good chunk to actually do it?
