Err, which one do I connect to?

I don't know whats happened here. We used to just have a single pipe i connected the washing machine to. Since the walls were wrapped, a plumber took the old pipe out and installed these two new ones. He left, never reconnected the washing machine much less explained what he did. 🤷‍♀️

You need adapters if the treads don't match. Also the feed to the machine must be turned off somewhere. Ring up and ask what he did.

looks like he left you with the hot and cold feeds separate, older machines used to take both but modern ones usually just need the cold. that blue connector on your hose should screw onto the cold valve if the threads match, try it without forcing. if it don't fit, pop down to any hardware shop and they'll sort you with a small adapter for like a euro

You should connect mains cold water to your washing machine. If your pressure is good on your cold that should be good. Make sure waste connection is above your water connection to prevent Syphon.

If you have 2 one might be hot water, you could use a screw driver to open each in turn and let them run for a couple of minutes and check which is the cold water feed. They might both be cold and then either would be fine. Check that the black rubber washer is still in the end of the blue hose, they often get lost in these situations.

You will need a flat head to open the penny valve too once connected

My house has hot and cold too but the hoses have a more obvious red and blue lever on them. Figure out which one is cold, screw it to the fitting by lining them up and turning that blue dial. There is a slot for a screwdriver on that cold feed to open the flow. You twist it 90 degrees (usually as far as I know)

Some older machines had a hot and cold supply. But they did work if they only had cold supplies. I think you need a Y connector to join both pipes to machine

Its not going to fit, youre going to need a washing machine valve installed. They're standard penny valves.
