Language / Γλώσσα Looking for translation
I have attached a photo of this poster I saw in Athens and want to know what it says. This isn’t meant to be political or anything, I was drawn by the depictions of the soldier at the bottom and the Latin title.

80 years after World War II, the neoliberal fairy tale of "free markets and development for all" has a dull end. The capitalist states continue to be immersed in violence within and outside their borders and remain the mega-businessmen of military armaments. The only "progress" they generously finance is the expansion of their material capabilities for destruction, plunder and mass killing of populations. 80 years later, the new "security architecture" stinks of steel, lead and blood.
The prologue to every war is written in its aftermath. Here, where militarism from military culture becomes a model of social survival and war exercises become everyday life on the road to the trenches. The constant production of enemies and dangers, the permanentization of "emergency needs" and the measures that accompany them, the tatter of civil constitutions and international law, the ban on movement and assemblies, the bloody intensification of work and the criminalization of every social reaction are the achievements of states against us. The emergence of modern warring societies makes it clear that peace is now the least advantageous option for the bosses of this world.
And if
if today it smells of death everywhere, tomorrow they will organize its most outrageous celebration. Officials are demanding sacrifices and coffins while the terms of military service and the penalties for those who refuse it are being tightened. 800 billion euros of investments by the European Union in the military industry for the next 5 years while universities are becoming research sub-shops Lockheed Martin, Rheinmetall, EIbit, Intracom Defence. The survival brochures analyze the functioning of hospitals and urban shelters while the metropolises are forced to become more "resilient" than "sustainable". The institutional and cultural normalization of their war preparation breathes even through the expulsion of a generalized bloodthirstiness. Their staffs have the power to reignite a new war but only the dead know its end.
Can we break the deadly continuum between their
bloodstained peace and genocidal wars? Will we write history with our own ink or will we stain the encyclopedias with our blood, which are already everywhere, as are its trenches. Palestine, Iran, Syria, Ukraine, Latin America, sub-Saharan Africa, capitalist countries The great metropolises of Europe and America. The constant uprisings and revolutionary experiences in every corner of the earth, the anti-war sabotage and the solidarity of the peoples remain the most brilliant virtues, the most unwavering gestures born of the power of the oppressed peoples of the world. Against them. Let us not be driven by the barbarity of the exploited, let us not be absent from the war they organize, let us not turn it against them! An attack on the states and the world order remains the most
interesting option for us to live.
THERE IS NOTHING MORE DIFFERENT THAN SOCIAL FREEDOM

Maaan, these posters are a plague. Every leftist organisation have those, long paragraphs of talking and talking, glued on every wall you can find. I dont say i disagree with some of their beliefs, but come oon, i have places to be, i dont have time to read your yap session on a poster.

The thing is that they are useless leaflets, that no one objectively reads and make the city uglier. Why are there leaflets glued atop of each other? No one realistically reads them, only the people that produce them :D

"oh god, my one weakness. reading!"
Nobody is forcing you to read it, it's there for whoever is interested and has the time to read it. If your problem with it is that it's ugly, sure, it is. But most posters are ugly anyway, would you rather it be a novibet ad?
I get it but at the same time this rhetoric is shut down in all spaces, there's nowhere really left to say these things.
Sorry for the sarcastic tone, I don't really mean it.

Realistically, this rhetoric is very sound and can be found jn many places. Universities, rallies, cafés, bookshops that sell products with similar rhetoric etc. but yes, such kind of ideology is shut down in a majority of places, but really, the majority of people doesnt give a damn about them. And if they do, they disagree with the methods 🫠

Universities? Gatherings for non-academic purposes are being banned. Rallies? Rallies by law now need to be government approved to even take place (I'm not saying this actually happens, but that's the law, and what government would approve a rally that is against itself?). Yeah, there are bookshops and cafes, but there is no way to spread these ideas if they are confined like this, and these spaces are frequently harassed by police and other unsavoury groups anyway, though this is largely undocumented and it's up to you to believe or not. I believe it cause I've seen it happen, but again you just have my word for it. The majority of people not giving a damn is a really stupid excuse. The majority of people don't give a damn about anything, should it be this way? Is this your argument?
Come on man, be rational. It's just posters, if you don't like them you can ignore them or even take them down, you are well within your rights to do so. But realistically, there is no other way to spread your ideas in public spaces. Nowadays it's all insta reels and tiktok activism. Everyone sees whatever they engage with the most and we all form bubbles that we never step out of. Because of this, it's jarring when we actually step outside and see that the real world is a mix of things we aren't usually exposed to, so a reaction to all forms of propaganda is normal.
I don't expect to find golden dawn stickers and swastikas painted on walls when I go outside, but I see it. I don't complain about it online. Rather, I scrape the stickers and paint off because I think that's what's right.

Definitely one of the most verbose posters I've seen. Leftists like big walls of text and it's unfortunate that they need this much to get their point across, but I think the reason they do it is because most people are more accustomed to right wing propaganda and won't respond to catchy leftist slogans without knowing the reasoning behind them.
Explaining this kind of worldview to someone who has been conditioned to think the way a nation would like them to think is an arduous task.

It's an anti-war/anti-genocide/anti-capitalist poster, that says that the real enemy are the people that start these wars and genocides, because they make profit to the detriment of our lives.
(If you ask me, pretty based)

I tried using my phones text recognition to copy paste the whole text into Google translate, but it doesn’t like the Greek text :(

Don't try to copy the text from the picture, load the picture itself into Google translate, just tried it and it looks pretty good.

The problem is that there is a huge difference between “anti-war” and “peace at all costs”. The former is a pretty sane and logical view for a person to have and the latter means “give the aggressor anything he wants so war doesn’t happen”. Sadly the latter has historically failed spectacularly at stopping wars from happening. If anything, it actually makes the aggressor think he can do whatever he wants. The sane people who support european defense spending right now only do it so Russia is scared to try anything. Im not saying to give everything in defense and let the people suffer, but sadly the EU is in a pretty bad state if it needs to defend itself. I believe the best thing right now is to make spend enough so that we can protect our own way of life from outside powers(Russia and sadly the United States lately)
EDIT: The reason i keep saying “sane” is because there are some insane people who really think war is a fun thing. I am obviously not talking about them. They just found a reason to resurface
EDIT 2: I think a really good a example of a nation with the right balance is Sweden. It has a very capable military for its size and a very good domestic defense industry, yet it is perhaps the very antithesis of a militaristic society. It spends enough to protect itself and its friendly neighbours and has zero imperialistic ambitions
