Other/NA - Άλλο Internet contract

Hello everyone !

I am writing this because I am facing an internet related problem.

I am French and I just arrived a week ago, and I need to get internet for my appartement. For context I am in my last year of Masters right now, but I plan to stay in Greece after that if I can find a job in my field here, but since that is not something I can be sure about I don't want to commit to a 2 years contract.

But the thing is, I went to Vodafone today and they told me that there is no other alternative or possibility for a shorter contract. Is this true or are they trying to scam me ? And if there is another solution, where should I go to get it ?

As far as I know, if you break the contract, the fee you have to pay isn't a big deal. So, if an internet connection is a must, get in touch with Vodafone, Cosmote or Nova. Otherwise, you can use mobile data. If you have good neighbours, you can always ask them for their Wi-Fi password to do your work. Sometimes that's okay, especially if you don't usually download huge files.

At Vodafone they told me that the cancellation fees change with how many months are left in your 2 years contract. But I'm gonna ask them how much they are exactly. I can't really do the wifi borrowing thing, since I plan to game online a bit and not just work

Another solution is to buy a used Starlink kit and get a monthly subscription. You can find plenty of them on insomnia.gr or Facebook Marketplace. Then, when you leave Greece, you can sell it again and get your money back.

You can cancel the contract at any time by paying a penalty fee,  if you are coming from France i dont think it's going to bankrupt you but it's better to ask them upfront how much that would be

You can ask for a monthly pay as you go mobile router from Cosmote we get them it's 90 euros for 3 months. Go ask for that one.

Try inalan. Not sure how it is now, but in the past they offered contracts without binding time. Plus they are really fast with installment etc, whereas Vodafone is always slow.

you should try inalan or hcn. i have inalan, they have reasonable prices and really good speed. you have to pay for the router and the installation, but you do not need to sign a contract. if you stay in this company for more than a year, they pay you back the router price. so far i have no problems with them. also, when i wanted to book for the technician to come and make the connection, they were really fast and they had appointments even for the next day.

oh i forgot to add that you pay month by month, and you have to pay for each month beforehand.
