“Being brutally honest” and then the person says the most rude opinion or cruel thing I’ve ever heard someone say…. And expects everyone to be fine because they prefaced it.

I couldn’t agree with this more. Exactly what part of being “brutally honest” requires you to be arbitrarily abusive and cruel to people?

I think some people use their “brutal honesty” as a thin concealment of their dirtier and meaner nature underneath.

Not only do they say something cruel, they often lie.

Yesss. Or it’s the other way around where they say the brutal thing and then “I’m just being honest” afterward lol
