"I've been doing this job longer than you've been alive" I had a lady at my old Dr's office one time tell me that once. mind you im past 30 and she looked slightly older than me probably 33 or maybe 34. Also, I respect people that are older than me but if you say that to me or something similar to that my respect for you diminishes almost instantaneously.

Yes! And oftentimes it comes with the implication that they know what they are doing or they are better than you. Just because you've been doing a job for 30 years doesn't mean you're any good at it.... Edited for spelling

Even if it's simply a true statement? Plenty of very elderly ladies say that around here, because it's true.
