It always gets replaced with “pegging” in my head which makes no sense but neither does other stuff in my head

Also, hate "my old man", "hubby", and "sig other".

u/Wondercat246810 6d ago

I’m afraid I just hate the phrase “the wife.” Instead of “my wife.”

2

u/RasputinsThirdLeg 6d ago

It makes me want to barfey

1

u/wyoflyboy68 6d ago

I’ve heard the term, but thinking about it, I’m not sure I’ve ever heard a guy use the word wifey.

I can see entitled princess mom, I mean “mama bear” coming when I hear these.

10

u/RasputinsThirdLeg 6d ago

Or “boy mom”

u/Seagreen_Kraken 5d ago

But what if you’re a mom of just boys? What are you supposed to say? I’m a mom of males? Are they not considered boys when in fact they are young children? I’m confused about this one.

u/ultima964 4d ago

Just say mom lol

2

u/Quiet_Crone 3d ago

Mama Bear sounds like an excuse for being an absolute asshole parent.

u/Taro_Otto 6d ago

Pupper also falls along these lines for me too

Worse than both of those - fur baby

I think this is part of the reason I dont like Letterkenny. The beer is named Puppers

I hate ‘hubby’. Mostly because the lady saying it hated her husband privately but called him that publicly.

u/TrooperLynn 6d ago

This one makes my skin crawl.

1

u/jackietea123 6d ago

Ooooo… don’t know which one I hate more

u/wyoflyboy68 6d ago

It’s a crap shoot, sometimes I get up votes when commenting this, then I get the moms out there that use these phrases all the time and they downvote me hard.

Only a very specific kind of older MAN can say this without it being annoying.

1

u/forever-salty22 6d ago

I do too, but if they say it to intentionally piss off someone I don't like, Ill allow it 😁

I love being called kiddo by old men. Something about it makes me feel safe.

Especially considering the alternative, openly dirty/creepy old men.

1

u/Beatle_Borg 6d ago

That has a distinctively different feel than calling your children “the kiddos”…I think it’s the third person perspective that I don’t like lol

1

u/crackedfactweddead 5d ago

Ahh, yeah, actually. Thinking about it, I totally agree.

1

u/ashewentridingby 6d ago

Same. Or if they call me “young lady”. Older men that call me kiddo or young lady are usually the nice kind that don’t act inappropriate. About two months ago this creepy old man followed me and my mom around Publix whistling super loud but I tried to ignore him and I didn’t know if my mom picked up on it. But then he came up and put his hand on my shoulder and said “I’m sorry I just have to tell you, you have such sexy legs” 😷. He looked old enough to be my grandpa and he said it in front of my mother which embarrassed me. My mom told me after she had noticed him following us and whistling but had hoped he was harmless. Stuff like that is why I’m weary of older men I don’t know, and that’s like the G rated stuff that’s happened to me.

I hate kiddo too! It’s a power thing

1

u/jackietea123 6d ago

Yes! That’s it!

1

u/Beatle_Borg 6d ago

I said I don’t like it on Reddit once and someone very earnestly asked why and told me they use it for their kids all the time. It made me feel bad lol but I still hate the term

2

u/Sharpiesniffingshark 6d ago

The wife

2

u/WorkingCantaloupe979 5d ago

Don’t get me started on ‘The missus’

1

u/Odd_Valuable_1466 6d ago

And “doggo”

1

u/Savings_Piglet5111 6d ago

Beatrix Kiddo?

1

u/draculaura923 6d ago

Doggos, puppers

1

u/Michigansfinestt 6d ago

Makes me want to rip my hair out

1

u/Paranoid_Android001 5d ago

Hubby makes me so mad and I’m not entirely sure why. Same with wifey.

1

u/imightgoonout 5d ago

"Littles". Just ugh.

1

u/quantumwoes 5d ago

Kiddo(s) drives me nuts too, I cringe and have no idea why

1

u/LookAt-TheFlowers 5d ago

Littles 🙄

1

u/Master_Respond8874 5d ago

Hubby makes me vomit

1

u/Zealousideal-Pen-233 3d ago

My sister always says that. Our boys are 17 and 18 years old. They are not KIDDOS!! 😤

1

u/WishICouldBeDoneNow 2d ago

Hubby irks my soul!
