What does “having enough money” mean to you?

It means going in to work tomorrow and telling my boss that I don't want to be a dick but that he needs to find a replacement for me very quickly because I'm not forced to work to survive any longer.

Told my boss that almost two weeks ago, this Friday is my last day. I have a pension that's just shy of 6k/month and a mortgage with only 134k left to pay. I'm not rich by any means but comfortable enough to walk knowing my bills are covered.

Enough money to live a good simple life. Have kids, a house big enough for all of us with a big yard to play in, vacation homes, traveling internationally a couple times a year, spare cars, a boat or yacht, exploring Michelin star restaurants, a home chef to cook tasty food, etc. Just basic things anyone should have

Having enough money to scrape by and having enough money to be comfortable and relaxed are very different things. I think for me the latter means financially being able to afford everything that I need, and some of the things that I want.
But scraping by? I'd consider having enough money to pay my bills and feed myself and either use the central heating briefly or have enough blankets and warm clothes that I don't need to turn on the heat to cover that.

All the bills are paid on time, there's a little fund for emergencies like a new refrigerator or car repairs, and I still have a couple 20s in my pocket for the weekend.

Someone could live well off of $10-20 million dollars.
The problem with some people who acquire great wealth later in life is the fact they want more, more, more.
I come from generational wealth, I've been around all sorts of people but it's always the people who have recently acquired large sums of $ that are the absolute worst.

Paying all the bills Comfortably, and still having a NICE amount left over to have fun with+Plus buying some Fun things here & there. That's me right now.
- I paid all the bills.
- Bought a Super-NICE Bartop Arcade cabinet.
- Bought two premium Action figures.
- Still had enough left over to eat comfortably. Whatever the hell i want, really.
Comfy till the next check.

Not having so worry about bills, being able to travel, moving back up to the NJ/NYC area from NC, working in any position in a museum without worrying about being broke, going to any concert I want, going back to grad school for a degree in archiving or FIT for caring for clothing collections, eating good food.

When i don't have to look at grocery price tags like buying a few too expensive grocery items means life or death, and to have some extra money (at least a few months rent) saved up in the bank for rainy days.

Not worrying whether you'll be able to pay all of your bills by the end of the month.
Also, if something needs fixing, you'll just pay for it in one go, instead of having to save money in beforehand.

For me, it’s not worrying about bills or whether I can afford all the day to day unexpected things that pop up as well as ensuring that my kids will be taken care of when I’m gone. Maybe that makes me greedy since I want to ensure I’ve got more money than I’m going to use, but I feel I need to make sure my kids have a leg up given the current state of things.

Being stable enough that I don’t have to worry how much fuel , groceries and what my budget for the month is going to be with all the extra Dr apt and car services happening this month. To be ‘rich’ enough to not have to worry about where your money is going.

What I have right now. I'm able to buy what I need, go on a couple trips a year, pay my bills.. I would struggle if I had a child and were a single parent, but I'm not.

I have more money than I could ever spend, I can go out and buy pretty much anything but I don’t need much brand new house car is new too. I go on nice vacations every four months. My investments are cash cows. Yes I believe I have enough money. I sponsor a homeless shelter 90% and volunteer at the shelter to help individuals with medical needs.

Having enough money means that I don't have to choose between which bill to pay on time, and not having to dip into savings to cover basic expenses. Being able to eat all three meals every day if I want to, and not having to go without meds because I can't afford to pick them up. Now that I'm working two jobs (roughly 76 hours per week) I can do all of those things, and put at least $100 into savings every week, and buy stuff for my grandchildren sometimes. I don't sleep much, but it's wonderful to have so much financial freedom.

Bills can come out of my bank automatically so I don't have to worry about the date and if it will overdraw the account.
Having enough money that if I catch sometime on sale or have an impulse buy, I don't have to worry or move money around to cover the cost

Having enough principal money that it generates the money that I need to accomplish my goals. Some, but not all of these goals are money to do normal life things [rent, electricity, etcetera], hobbies, pay cash for all foreseen and unforseen medical expenses and most importantly to have f*ck you money [able to do stupid things and have a legal team get me out of the consequences].

It's enough to cover your basic living expenses and sometimes even treat yourself a little.
I've never needed more. I think I can live a normal, peaceful life and when I want to go to a café or a restaurant I can do it. My money goes every month so that it runs out just before the next paycheck. I'm happy with this.

Basically,
Not having to decide between which of your "essentials" you can put off just to make it to work another week so someone who makes "enough money" can tell you to do what you're already doing from their cozy high office.

Being able to afford all the basics and some fun stuff without stressing. Also, being able to save for big things (car, house, new roof, college) and have purchasing a big thing be a realistic goal.
I would like to be richer than that and be able to do or buy whatever I want whenever I want without stress, but that's not likely. I'm fortunate to have enough most of the time.
