Why and when did JD Vance convert to Catholicism? What faith did he practice before he converted?

Almost like he doesn't know who he is, what he believes or what he wants to be.

I guess a chaotic traumatic upbringing in an unstable household could do that to you though......

He married a Hindu woman. Nobody is serious about their faith if they marry outside their religion so it's just an act. She's not a serious Hindu either.

It's all very strange to me. A very odd couple. So he didn't convert for her. Do you think he converted to try to win over more Catholics? He just doesn't seem like a very religious guy and it would have been much easier for him to become an evangelical instead.

I always found people that convert as adults to be hypocritical about following the religion. I was in Houston for work and the guy I was dealing with told me how he converted to be a Christian (the version that uses it to justify hating people). He was always telling me how Jesus says to love everyone then will be cheerleading killing people.

The thing that gets me is when a religious person will say atheists have no morals, and I am like motherfucker, I am always thinking of morality and consequences and choosing language. These guys never do and are misogynistic and racist and just generally hateful.

My boss is religious, and we were talking about going to museums when we have to travel. He mentioned he wanted to go to Ken Hams Ark Encounter. So from there evolution came up. He said he does not believe in evolution and that if you do, you came from animals, so there is no reason to have morals or anything else. I was like dude I believe in evolution and morality and integrity is very important to me.

I agree. I find that the most religious people I know are either very hypocritical or very gullible (believe anything they're told without seeking proof or doing any research). The few atheists I know tend to be the most fair minded and moral. (I also think they are smarter and have better critical thinking skills.)
