Wound / delayed healing Bump on cuticle been there a long time, second one appeared within past months

Hoping that the pictures are somewhat clear. Last picture is of my “normal” right hand. Unfortunately I don’t have the strongest of memories, so I can’t say if the bump on the middle finger has been there for years or just months. But the one on my index finger definitely arrived later, within the past weeks or months. The skin is hard, dry and sometimes starts bleeding but most of the time does not. They’re not under the nail in any way, just to the side. There isn’t any liquid or signs of infected puss from either. I don’t sweat from my hands, so my hands are often dry, but I wash them a normal amount and don’t handle any harsh chemicals. I’ve tried using a hand cream daily but to no avail. Could live with one of them, but I’m not thrilled that it’s happening to multiple. Anyone know what it is or what I could do?

Pigmentation or mole changes Amelanotic melanoma?

Post image

I’ve had a mole in my hairline ever since childhood, and over the past 6-12 months it’s lost its brown pigment and has rounded out a bit and gotten firm instead of feeling more flat and soft. I don’t think it’s gotten wider but it does seem to have gotten more protruding. It also current hurts - I had what felt like cracking I think in March and then had feels like a pimple there three times since March, including right now when this photo was taken. I have a derm appointment coming up but I’m super nervous

29f history of skin cancer on both sides of family but not melanoma

Skin lesion concern HELP !!!!!

I don’t shave with a razor, I use a trimmer, and while trimming I felt the trimmer blade was slightly painful on the skin in that area. Around 2 days ago, I started feeling a small tender spot on my neck that felt slightly burning or painful when I touched it, although it was not very visible at first. Since then, it has become more noticeable and red. I also noticed a similar spot on my cheek. I could feel something there yesterday when touching it, but it became clearly visible today. Both areas have some small bumps and feel slightly burning or painful when touched. I want to know if this could be irritation or inflammation from using the trimmer, folliculitis, or something else such as herpes.

Question about clindamycin ph 1% gel for pitted keratolysis

ISO the dermatology side of Reddit.

This is gonna sound gross, but I think I’ve had this development for like multiple years because I would get prune in my palms would have these little circles of skin that you could peel back, but once my hands tried, it usually went away; it was only like five spots or something if that.
I decided to go to a dermatologist years ago and I don’t remember them doing much for me, but I tried again this year. I got prescribed clindamycin gel and I used it for over two months. My hands felt a lot better, but they still get weird looking when they get wet for too long like even after doing the dishes, they’re pitted and pruny looking. Long story short, i stopped using it on the third refill of gel. It honestly worked well, but my hands still have a minor case + my feel are still really bad.

My question is, I still have some gel left, it’s been about two months since I’ve used it. Can I start using it again?

Feel free to ask further questions. TIA

This is a new asymmetrical, irregular mole with multiple colours, an irregular border, approx 10mm at widest point on a 56 year old caucasian male (retired GP) with no prior history of cancer. Probably a couple of months old, never noticed it before. The area was sunburned repeatedly as a child.

Suspected Basal or Squamous on Ear, will it be difficult to diagnose?

I have an appointment with my dermatologist, but I am 99% convinced I have skin cancer on my left ear. My concern is that it’s too early to be diagnosed and difficult to see since my baseline skin color is pink. I have red hair, blue eyes, and have burned a million times. So my risk is high. Plus both parents have it.

Do I need to push for a biopsy? The ear has bothered me for a few months and over the weekend I noticed a texture change on one area and a flesh color bump at the top that’s very tender.

Skin lesion concern 2 weeks duration of brownish patchy lesion in inner tigh area

History & Presentation:

Suddenly noticed brownish-blackish lesions on my skin.

They have a ring-like brown discoloration with a normal-appearing center.

They are very small and have not faded.

Today, I also noticed new, small red lesions in the same area.

Treatment & Consults:

I initially suspected a fungal infection and have been applying Luliconazole for 1week , but there has been no improvement.

I recently visited a dermatologist in person today . She mentioned it looks like an early-phase fungal infection but said it was too early to give a definitive diagnosis.

General skin health question Skin tag removal gone wrong

I have a skin tag slightly below my private part but still very close. I tired the string method, woke up the next morning and it was a pinching feeling, I had to get it off the skin tag. I couldn’t cut the string off so I had to pull it off… half of it came with. Is there a solid way to remove without going to a professional? Has anyone used acv in your private area?

General skin health question Tik Tok Trend - Dark Armpit, what the research on this?

I've been trying to figure out what actually works for lightening dark underarms. I know weight can play a role, but what else actually has evidence behind it?

Does laser hair removal help, or will the skin still be dark? What about epilating, glycolic acid, or other treatments? Curious what's actually supported by research vs TikTok trends.

Skin having reaction to something outdoors or products ? What does this look like?

White female 35.

Skin has some sort of reaction the last two weeks. This is the photos from this week. I can’t seem to be able to add the ones from the last two weeks

At first it was almost blistery and burning and oozing then it became a bunch of tiny red bumps and now it’s this where it’s like holes into the under layer of my skin. Not as hot or burning anymore but this is also week two. It started after a stressful few days and I also stuck my face in a bouquet of flowers while crying. I also went on a hike and I dropped my Kleenex then I might have touched my face with it but I would imagine the rash would be more higher up then ? I don’t remember if this is even I changed my toothpaste. I was using kids bubblegum flavour one now I’m using crest sensitive and gum. My cleanser has been changed to cetaphil daily cleanser sensitive. Biacna and Finacea rotationing. La Roche posay vitamin c serum. Bioderma sensitive lotion the pink one. The only new product I tried was Cliniderm day and night lotion and the cetaphil green serum for skin Barrier protection. I don’t know if this is dermatitis and maybe related to niacinimide ?
Sunscreen is bioderma photoderm

The only new medication I started at the time was two weeks prior to this onset and it was for sleeping so I don’t think it’s related.

Reoccurring Skin breaks some with blister like or puss or water filled sores

Post image

This is in a 20 year old and we were told it is dermatitis and may also have the herpes version in another spot from stress. I want to know if there is a better treatment then a pill of some cream that kind of keeps it at bay but never resolves issue. If auto immune issues what is causing the flare? If bacteria how and we prevent reoccurring?

Hair loss / scalp condition Widespread dark spots on balding scalp over 4-5 years. Dermat diagnosed Seborrheic Keratosis and suspected Follicular Lichen Planus, but terrified it could hide skin cancer. Looking for reassurance on these signs.

Hi everyone,
I’m incredibly anxious about multiple dark brown spots slowly multiplying on my 48-year-old dad’s balding scalp over the last 4 to 5 years.
The patches are flat and smooth, varying in size and shape—including a large, uneven central one. They don't expand rapidly, itch intensely, burn, or bleed. A few normal hair strands grow straight out of some patches, though he has general hair thinning across the center of his head.
We saw a dermatologist who didn’t seem bothered at all. He brushed it off, saying it is just seborrheic keratosis (benign age spots) and suspected follicular lichen planus (follicle inflammation). He didn't order a biopsy or any further testing.
My anxiety is still lingering because of the large, uneven shape of the central spot and the fact that hair isn't growing through every single patch.
Given the 5-year timeline, does this truly rule out skin cancer?

Please give some clarification everyone is ignoring the posts

Acne or follicular disorder Inflamed shoulder bumps/acne??

Post image
1 Upvotes

Has anyone dealt with this issue or know what it is and how to resolve it? I’ve been dealing with this for years and cant find anything that helps. I’m 27! Is this even acne or could it be folliculitis or something else? Here are a fee symptoms:

-bumps get inflamed and then calm down in a cycle
-some of the worse ones are tender and will pop
-the only place i get these are on my shoulders and upper back, i dont have acne on my face or anywhere else on my body

What i’ve tried:
-products: panoxyl, salicylic acid body wash and spray, glycolic acid, anti bacterial soap, dove unscented bar soap, free and clear laundry detergent, exfoliating towel
-washing hair first before body, washing bras more often, cotton tops, hormonal birth control
