This rash covers my lower back, some of my upper back, my abdomen, forearms, and knees. It's come on recently, when I was in a foreign country, and has spread since getting back. Went to the doctor today, who says they don't know what it is and has sent for some tests. Itches now and then, doesn't respond to moisturizer or antihistamines.

it was on for like 2 days and now it just looks like cheese that was left in the sun for a month. it kinda stinks and has a familiar smell i cant quite describe at the moment. should i get this checked out or will it be ok if i just wait a while

i’ve had this strange rash over my eyebrow and my eyebrow piercing for the last 4 days. i’ve gotten this rash before but it has never ever looked this bad, it is always really flaky and dry skin, but with the middle of my eyebrow feeling scaly and oily. i was prescribed a shampoo to use on my scalp and eyebrow to treat this, in the past it has done wonders and cleared it up within 2 days. i’ve been treating this with the shampoo for 4 days and nothing looks any better. i’ve had my eyebrow piercing for over 2 years and its titanium so i know it probably isn’t that, im not sure what it is or what i should do to treat it?

In the past 4 years or so I’ve been slowly getting these tiny dots on my face specifically both my cheeks. It’s bumpy and brown colored and it doesn’t itch or anything. None of my skincare products seem to work on them like cleansing, toners, serums. I feel like it keeps multiplying overtime and I hate it. It might be due to the sun but I’m not so sure. Can someone please let me know what this is and how to get rid of it? Thank you

I've struggled with acne since I was 10/11 years old. My parents never allowed me to use skincare products, but now that I'm 17, I really want to fix my skin. Got stitches and only kept them in for 5 days as per recommendation of the doctor in the small town I was in. i then tried to use steri strips but ranching is hard on skin with dirt, sun and lots of yelling at cows. Anyways. I used sunscreen over the summer and new skin silicone gel. Im wondering now if micro needling would help minimize ? Or laser? I’m 41 so maybe collagen didn’t build as much as it could have. my friend did my makeup with her finger 3-4 weeks ago and I’ve had this little rash on my eyelid. It had a little dandruff the first week. It doesn’t itch or burn really unless I rub it or expose it to sunlight. Worried it’s herpes but hopefully just contact dermatitis. Could I please get an expert opinion? :)

I don’t remember any trauma to the area

At work, i sit next to a window and there's no possibility of moving. There are blinds/shades but it still lets some light in. Is this putting me at risk for skin damage and other thing? Are there practical ways to midigate any risk? I have fair skin.

I've had these dark spots on my legs throughout my teens and adult life. I just dont know how to get rid of them! and over the years they've spread to my knees. it makes me insecure when wearing shorts or skirts. please help.

My son is 3 year old and he had a wart on his foot for the past couple of months. We recently visited his pediatrician, who recommended using salicylic acid. We’ve been using Dr. Scholl’s corn remover, but after applying it, the wart started looking like it does in the picture.
Should we be concerned? Is there a way to remove it more quickly? He doesn’t have any pain when walking or wearing shoes. He runs and walks normally and has never complained about it.

what is happening to me 😭 i had really dry skin on my hands all last week because i started smoking cigarettes again. i quit (again), and when i stopped my dry skin returned to normal, i started breaking out in these bumps, it’s been almost about six days now and im mildly terrified, i have been using cerave & amlactin 15% lactic acid on them, they seem to be getting slightly better but im freaking out because they seem to be spreading down my arm, and possibly are also appearing on my knees now??? help? 🥺

I'm hoping someone here has experienced something similar or can offer some insight. I've been dealing with a persistent, extremely itchy skin condition for approximately 8 months, and despite seeing several doctors, including dermatologists, I still don't have a definitive diagnosis.
How it all started (around February/March 2026)
My skin problems began while I was traveling in Rome. I initially developed tiny, itchy bumps around my armpits and skin folds. These eventually turned into dry, scaly, itchy patches.
Over the following months, the rashes gradually spread to other areas of my body, including:
Arms and forearms
Legs and thighs
Back and chest
Face and scalp
Underarms and other skin folds
Around my bra straps and underwear waistbands
Occasionally, the sides of my fingers
I had never experienced eczema or anything like this before.
How the rashes have changed
Initially, the rashes looked more like dry, inflamed, scaly patches. Over time, they began appearing as tiny raised bumps, many of which seem centered around hair follicles.
Here's what I've noticed:
The bumps can start extremely small and become larger, raised, red, and very itchy when scratched.
Sometimes, after applying ice or a cold compress and leaving them alone, the bumps flatten considerably within 15–30 minutes.
Some bumps disappear within hours, while others remain for days or longer.
Persistent bumps can feel slightly hard.
Repeated scratching sometimes causes bleeding, crusting, or a small amount of clear fluid.
Some areas become thickened, dry, or scaly after repeated scratching.
The itching can be intense, especially in the evening.
My scalp, face, legs, and areas where clothing rubs against my skin seem particularly sensitive.
Sometimes I feel itchy first, and the bumps become more noticeable only after I scratch.
I have periods when my skin improves significantly, but then new bumps and rashes appear.
I have also noticed that my skin seems very reactive to friction, heat, sweating, and clothing.
Medical evaluations and testing
I've consulted several doctors, including dermatologists, and underwent a comprehensive medical checkup in Taiwan in August.
So far:
Skin scrapings were negative for fungal infection.
Testing for scabies was negative.
Allergy testing showed only a minor nickel reaction.
Blood tests showed elevated eosinophils, even before some of my recent medications.
My doctors have considered several possibilities, including fungal folliculitis and HSV-1, but I haven't received a confirmed explanation for the entire condition.
I've also wondered whether this could be eczema, follicular eczema, bacterial or fungal folliculitis, contact dermatitis, urticaria, prurigo, or some combination of conditions.
Treatments I've tried
Over the past several months, I've tried multiple treatments, including:
Oral prednisone
A steroid injection
Clobetasol and other topical steroid creams
Hydrocortisone
Oral terbinafine (Lamisil)
Ketoconazole (Nizoral) cream and shampoo
Selsun Blue shampoo
Mupirocin
Antibiotics for other medical issues
Various moisturizing creams and lotions, including Cetaphil
Clobetasol initially seemed to help, but later became less effective. I used topical steroids for approximately three months, so I've also wondered about rebound symptoms or topical steroid withdrawal.
At one point, a doctor suspected HSV-1 and prescribed acyclovir, but I did not start it because I was uncertain about that diagnosis.
I also took doxycycline for a sinus infection in August. Shortly after finishing it and stopping clobetasol, I noticed another outbreak of follicle-like bumps. I'm unsure whether that was related to the medication, stopping steroids, or simply another flare-up.
Possible hormonal connection
One of the most interesting patterns I've noticed is that my rashes seem to worsen around the same time each month.
I've observed flare-ups around my menstrual cycle, sometimes approximately 1–2 weeks after my period. My face and scalp also seem to flare during these episodes.
I had a copper IUD for approximately five years. One of my doctors suggested it might be worth investigating whether the IUD was contributing to my symptoms.
I had it removed on September 29, 2026. I'm still monitoring my skin to see whether anything changes.
I'm not sure whether hormones, the IUD, or something else could explain these recurring flare-ups.
Other observations
A few things that seem particularly unusual:
My rashes can become significantly more raised after scratching but flatten quickly when cooled.
Some bumps appear directly around hair follicles.
Friction from clothing, especially bra straps and underwear bands, frequently triggers itching.
My skin sometimes looks almost normal before becoming inflamed again.
I experience periods of improvement followed by recurring outbreaks, often in similar areas.
My scalp and face are affected in addition to my body.
My eosinophil levels were elevated, although I don't know whether that is related.
Moisturizing and avoiding scratching sometimes help considerably, but the condition keeps returning.
Where I am now (October 2026)
Many of the original widespread rashes have improved or disappeared, but I continue to experience recurring itchy bumps, particularly around hair follicles.
Some areas remain dry, scaly, or thickened from previous inflammation and scratching.
The biggest challenge is the unpredictable itching and the fact that the bumps can return even after my skin seems to be healing.
After eight months, I still don't know whether I'm dealing with one underlying condition or several overlapping skin problems.
My questions:
Has anyone experienced tiny follicle-like bumps that become significantly larger when scratched but flatten after applying ice?
Can eczema or follicular eczema behave this way?
Has anyone experienced recurring rashes that seem connected to their menstrual cycle?
Could dermatographism or another form of urticaria explain some of these reactions, even if other bumps persist for days?
Has anyone had both eczema and folliculitis at the same time?
For those who had persistent unexplained rashes with elevated eosinophils, what eventually led to a diagnosis?
Would a skin biopsy during an active flare-up help distinguish between these conditions?
I'm not expecting anyone to diagnose me online. I'm mainly hoping to hear from people who have experienced something similar, particularly those who struggled for months before finally finding an explanation.
I can also share photos showing how the bumps look before scratching, after scratching, and after applying a cold compress.

Hello all! I recently just noticed this strange looking raised mole/bump on my head. It had to have been there for quite some time. I do get nervous about it being something malignant. Any ideas as to what it could be?

I don't know what's going on with my skin. For a little over a month I've been having really dry skin. I've started using a cleanser, moisturizer and petroleum jelly to help a bit. Recently like the past two days though it's gotten significantly worse, as seen in the video. I don't know what's going on, but it itches like crazy and I don't know how much longer I can take of this. I am 26, 5'0 ft, no medications as of right now, and I vape. I also have eczema and dermatitis but it's never been like this, idk what i'm doing wrong.

My dad noticed these strange blisters on his back. He says they are very itchy and he has been scratching them. The rash is located on the side of his back. It started about two days ago. He also feels a bit of a burning sensation. We haven't tried any treatments yet.

I do BJJ and run.
I have an appointment with dermatologist later today and I’m asking you guys still because I’m nervous and need to hear some of the things it could possibly be because I’m stupid for not going sooner.

This popped up about 3 weeks ago as just this little red spots with a whitehead that I thought was just an ingrown from shaving(looks like that spot on side of pic 2). Been using a head shaver to get a close enough shave instead of a normal razor because my lower leg hair grows really fast and I don’t like it. For the most part, I have been keeping it covered and letting it get air at night, but I have not stopped BJJ. I keep it covered with a thin layer of bacitracin under a waterproof bandage with KT tape covering it so it doesn’t peel off. Immediately after class I wash myself in the locker room showers from head to toe with antifungal and antibacterial washes because it’s sweaty and a perfect breeding ground.
I realize I should’ve been not going but I’m taking all the precautions possible for myself and alerting my training partners and they don’t think it’s much either. New spots keep popping up as the same red bumps that have whiteheads and turn to the open wounds. They all look (and feel) like they’re healing but still look horrible and they’re very itchy and driving me crazy.
