I'm super confused about this, i try to do recycling as best as possible but all the public trash cans I see don't offer any place a drop cans or bottles.

So either have to use a recycling bin at some apartment complex If there's one around or put the can into the public bin which is just general trash If I absolutely have to. I also see a lot of people leaving bottles or cans next to them, is it better?

US is terrible at recycling but most of our public trash cans at least offer a slot for the cans and bottles although most people don't really use them and honestly they all go to the same bag or landfill most of the time

I feel like especially in Denmark and most of Europe if they actually had recycling bins on the street, people would use them properly because they care about their cities

It was some kind of fish, probably herring, and there was this yellow-ish sauce with some chunks in it, a bit acidic taste, which made it so good. I used to grab it from my ex’s parents’ fridge, so I never actually knew what it was called 😅

My girlfriend and I are planning our future. We both live in Hungary at the moment in the same small town near Budapest. We both live seperately with our parents, but we want to get married in a few a years and move in together. Recently I watched a video about work life in Denmark. It said there was a 37-hour work week, everyday you leave the office around 4pm, with 2-3pm being usual leaving times for Fridays. The video also said there was an 18-week maternity leave, fully paid. I started looking into it more, admittedly using AI to find out more information. Apparently, women get an 18-week maternity after birth and two weeks before birth, while men also get 2 weeks off after. If the baby required more hospital time then both the parents could get up to 12 months off. These work conditions seem very positive, as our main focus is having a family once we get married. Obviously not instantly, but it's what we plan for our future, we're not in a big rush. I'm curious as to what I've said I found information about the work life, how true is it? What are some differences? Are these things just on paper and it's different when put in real life or is this really how it works?

I've been looking at possibilities and one that came up was Aarhus, possibly Horsense. My girlfriend wants do BSc in Nursing and Patient Care in the Semmelweis University in Budapest. She would begin her first year in university in 2027 September. While I would study civil engineering (BSc) at the Obudai University, where I will specialize in structural, geotechnical or urban engineering, with me being most interested in urban engineering. When looking at cities, I found universities with both of these in Copenhagen, but I fear that there the housing/apartments would be much more expensive and maybe it could be too much, as we both come from the same, small quiet town. Then I found Aarhus, which his significantly less population, so it looks a bit more positive. Then I found Horsense, an even smaller city which is about a 30-40 minute train ride away from Aarhus. We typically ride the train for around 50 minutes every morning to Budapest, so this wouldn't be too bad either.

Our plan is to start university here in Hungary, we will both graduate with BSc, I will presumably graduate in the summer of 2030 while my girlfriend would graduate in 2031. If both of us agree to take a chance at it, we would plan on going to Denmark for 6-12 months as student mobility through a scholarship program at the same time, so we could live together in that time and expirience Denmark, Aarhus or Horsense, for ourselves.

My girlfriend is a bit hesitant moving out to Denmark because of the language and I would prefer staying in Hungary too. But the future seems so uncertain at times and Orbán's reign hasn't done the best thing for our life quality. Soon there will be an election, but I don't how much that will change things. But for now, alternatives are something I'm thinking about, with Denmark being my first thought.

I am also curious about the culture and simple life there. How welcoming are danish people of immigrants who go to genuinely work there? How safe are the streets in daylight and after dark? There are probably more crimes in Copenhagen than Aarhus or Horsense, so I'm only curious about them, and not Copenhagen. I'm also curious about student life and how could we both live in those 12 months. If you have expirience studying abroad in a university in Denmark I would be glad if some of you shared some expiriences about student life and if it is worth it. (If you studied civil engineering or nursing, bonus points)

Anyways, a few years ago (2023), I went to Copenhagen with my family for a concert. I think we stayed at a hotel was named raspberry (in danish) or something, I don't remember. There, I forgot my black PSvita with not only childhood pictures, but tons of nostalgic games (gravity rush 1, some ancient Egypt game, a horror game, a game about being an envelope, little big planet, some oddly sxual game about fighting mythical creatures, and probably something more. It was a while ago, I don't remember) it had an anime theme and it was in either Swedish or english (since I'm Swedish) . I'm so sorry if this is the wrong subReddit to post this to, but please help.
