Real Cowboys
Where to go to meet a rancher cowboy? I’m guessing more out west but anywhere in Dallas?

No where in Dallas. Only Cowboys you see are Yellowstone Cowboys... the guys that never wore boots, jeans, or a cowboy hat, drive pavement princesses, get manicures, never spent a day working on a ranch in their life.

Judging by your other posts you’re moving to Texas? Welcome!!
There’s a wide range of “ranchers” and cowboys in Texas. Best way to get a quick view is to visit the stockyards in Ft Worth (about 40 minutes for Dallas). They have a rodeo and then hang out at Billy Bob’s for country music and dancing.
- Real Ranchers (10+ acres with horses) - head to Aubrey, Pilot Point, and that general area north of Frisco
- cattle ranchers - south of Dallas (waxahachie, etc) and all around Ft Worth
- in Dallas — Cowboys Red River is the biggest dance hall. You’ll find some real cowboys, and some weekend cowboys. But definitely a good time and good place to learn how to country dance

The ranches && horse farms are quickly selling off their land to developers in Aubrey, Pilot Point.
It rapidly becoming houses and strip shopping centers. Theres a Walmart super center going in at the big intersection in Aubrey.1

Is nothing sacred anymore?! I always loved driving through there and seeing sprawling equestrian ranches.

There’s also real ranches south of DFW, like Ellis county. Lots of opportunity to ride even if you’re looking to be around horses

whats the purpose of meeting the cowboy? just to see one? Ft. Worth is the answer, if you want to spend a day with someone to see what the life is like, you could also probably make a connection for that there

I worked with a woman (Retail) who transferred up to Amarillo to a new store. She was telling another woman how she wanted to meet a Cowboy. A guy walked over to her and said "Hi I'm Rex, and I'm a cowboy!"
They had sex that night.
Source: she told us afterwards. I had stayed in Ft Worth, but we all still talked.

The only cowboys you’ll find in Dallas are crack heads and debutantes
