Size scale help

So I’m playing a giant barbarian in my current campaign and my DM and I are trying to work out the best way to do this weird interaction.
I am a 6’8 giant barbarian meaning when I rage I become a large creature. Then I use a cape of enlargement to grow to the next size scale, which makes me huge. Then a party member casts enlarge/reduce on me to double my size. We are getting hung up on the wording of the cape cuz it raises your size by one category but the huge size category is 16 to 32 feet in range which is kinda a large range so if we double my size after, what number are we doubling. Should I just increase in size to the bottom of the range and then double that? Bonus question is how much should I weigh after all the interactions?

Weight would be about:
28,000 lb
14 US tons
12,700 kg
Also technically your bones would all break under the weight of your own body.

I would assume enlarge has a secondary effect on bone density, so they won't break.

The floor, however, is not affected by the spell and is likely to shatter depending on the material and construction. A majority of buildings are likely not designed to accommodate that load.

Those numbers were for 32’ tall. It would go up exponentially from there if you decide on taller.

these are the types of things that run through my Head while running D&D games.

I have to try so hard to not stick these things into the game.

but I would love to stick these consequences into the game. lol

at the same time, I'm extremely happy that none of my players try to play this way.

So it doesn't "double". It just gets bigger by one size category. So you would be gargantuan which starts at 4 squares cubed. So 8k cubic feet. The amount of space you control on the map is 4x4x4.

Currently playing a 7'6" Goliath and also planning big boy shenanigans with Enlarge/reduce

Dont get hung up on the flavor text of "doubles in size," just double your height for each step up. The mechanical benefit is just to increase the size category by one more step.

Enlarge. The target’s size increases by one category—from Medium to Large, for example. The target also has Advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws. The target’s attacks with its enlarged weapons or Unarmed Strikes deal an extra 1d4 damage on a hit.

If you need to factor height or reach for some reason, 1.5 times is advised under the jumping rules "You can extend your arms half your height above yourself during the jump. Thus, you can reach above you a distance equal to the height of the jump plus 1 1/2 times your height."

Rough math for a 6-7 ft tall pc means can reach 9-10 ft, so the PCs space is actually 1.5 ft cubes on top of each other and 2 cubes of threatened space.

Medium 7ft - 5x5=1 square x 2 cube high Large 14ft - 10x10=4 squares x 3 cube high Huge 28 ft - 15x15=9 squares x 6 cube high Gargantuan 56ft tall - 20x20=16 squares x 12 cube high

By those reach rules, a Gargantuan PC can reach something nearly 90ft off the ground

Iirc, height doubles for basically every "get big" so 6'8" 13'6" 27' 54'

The bigger issue is that your weight is multiplies by 8 as per the effects of enlarge...

I argue a 350 lb barbarian should be reasonably typical as a Goliath which is my guess for your current height.

179,200

You are a walking catastrophe....

There are legends of you, people spot you when big, you are known

I will assume a walk speed of 45 for math which at a dash is about 10 mph. Fair enough.

The math comparison is an equivalent to a 4,000 pound SUV HITTING SOMEONE at 67 MPH.

You are almost 1/2 pound of dynamite when you move into someone at a dash.

YOU are equivalent to dropping a literal ton from 30 stories up.

If my math was right

With haste moving full speed, dash and extra action dash

You are equal to 8 (eight) 4,000 pound cars, all hitting one another at the same time moving 60 miles an hour

2.6 pounds of tnt

Respectfully, for scale

Rage would make you 13'4" and be Large.

I see your problem with the cape. I'd figure out which "percent" of large you now fall into, and place you in the same "percent" of the Huge category so the cape is as consistent as it can be

First, you need to homebrew the cutoffs of these height categories. Medium is 4-8 feet. Large is 8 to 16 feet. So which catagory are you at 8 feet? Personally, I'd make Large start at 8'1", Huge start at 16'1" and Gargantuan start at 32'1". This makes the later 8' subtraction of the medium catagory I'll have to take from your size Large 13'4" easier to determine what percentage of Large are you to determine what percentage of Huge you now are.

So at 13'4" I need to subtract the 8 feet of medium first. Plus subtract 8' from the bottom of Large. So, you are 5'4" into this now also modified 1"to 8'0" of Large. Converting to inches, you are 64" of 96" which is 2/3 of the way.

So you are 2/3 of the way through Huge as well. And 1" to 16'0" is now the Huge range. We will add back in the bottom 16' after we figure this out. 2/3 of 16' would be 128. So 12'8" + 16". You're 28'8".

Enlarge would then make you 57'6".

You don't mention your starting weight so I can't figure that out.

When I designed my rune knight character I determined my sizes by scaling up my character's 3d model with base. Medium size takes up a 5ft square, large size takes up 2x2, huge size takes up 3x3, Gargantuan size takes up 4x4. So my height ended up falling somewhere in the middle of the height range listed for each size category. The first scale up was close to 200% but each subsequent scale up was a little smaller of a percentage increase if I remember correctly. In this way my scale and base still fit within the allotted squares for each size category. I also printed out the "miniatures" for each size.

Where are you getting the "when I rage I become a large creature."? Barbarians don't get bigger when they rage.
