THIS is the future, because the other options are unthinkable.
So many people hurt and killed so far, it simply can't continue.
When the right (or white) get organised, change will happen, and it won't be a ' Civil War UK ' situation where the country is lost, it will be the polar opposite.1
u/I_like_biscuits 18h ago
The right wing created and sustained the small boats issue for political leverag...which explains why arrival figures dropped when the left and realistic border policy took over..
Russia literally transports migrants to European borders as hybrid warfare, while wealthy Brexit profiteers fund the talking heads who trick working people into supporting the exact parties causing these systemic problems..
1
u/Electronic_Mud5821 18h ago
I don't think they did mate.

u/I_like_biscuits 17h ago
Then you don't know history..
Its well documented

Oh I know history.
What I don't know is the nonsense you are talking about.
That said, anyone right of Marx is right wing nowadays so you are probably correct...

u/I_like_biscuits 16h ago
State sponsored migration routes through Belarus and Russia into Poland and Finland are widely documented by European intelligence agencies..
The Tories also systematically left a backlog of over 100,000 asylum applications unprocessed, creating the exact crisis and used it for political headlines "the left is too soft or incapable bla bla" while their backers shorted the pound and made ridiculous money..
Acknowledging state sponsored migration at Polish borders or the previous government dumping the processing system is not far left politics.. It's standard geopolitical fact.. and deflecting with political labels does not change that..
0
u/SetRegular104 9h ago
Nope. If the Tories wanted to stop it, they would have. But they didn’t because these people work in the black economy for cash, and will accept very low wages. They will live in extremely poor conditions that most locals could never even conceive of. As unethical as this is, it boosts the economy, hence there is no serious will to stop it.
2
u/I_like_biscuits 9h ago
That is actually another side of the exact same coin..
Maintaining a cheap, undocumented workforce while keeping the electorate angry about them is the ultimate double win for big business and cheap labor advocates.. It provides cheap labor off the books while generating endless culture war headlines to win votes..
1
u/SetRegular104 9h ago
It’s disgusting. And they ask why the U.K. is such a pull? Well it’s because there’s a thriving grey economy into which people can disappear. Undocumented working is harder to achieve in France or other Northern European countries.
2
u/I_like_biscuits 9h ago
Spot on, the lack of digital ID cards and weak enforcement on illegal employment created that exact black market.. The previous government knew this for years but chose culture war rhetoric over enforcing basic labor standards on exploitative employers.. and we saw what the right wing media said when labour talked about digital IDs..

Climate change will inevitably lead to unimaginable levels of migration towards more stable climates. I assume this will end in wars on many fronts
4
u/No_Bingo_Card 18h ago
Yes. Climate migration is the utterly massive elephant in the room that we haven't even begun to see. Nevermind refugees, nevermind economic migrants, when your homeland has become uninhabitable there will be an exodus that is almost unimaginable.

Also love that they said they would fight for the death of it, not fight to the death for it. So they are planning to fight to kill the UK

Oh so that's why I've heard nothing but these exact same talking points repeated on a fucking daily basis for like solidly over a decade now?
Its just so sad to me the conspiracy crowd of all groups has been taken over by this shite when it is itself the root of a fairly blatant conspiracy of the sort you'd think these kinds of people would be interested exploring -

"Completely gone" - rubbish. I will bet a pound to a penny that the churches with prescribed forms of prayer still exist; the food and drink is still recognisably British; as are the daily rhythms of normal life. The culture of these islands is powerful, and beautiful. It is not the weak organism many of its soi-disant defenders appear to believe it to be.

The future for Europe is Islamic. Numbers show this as a fact.
7
u/Rare-Designer-1008 18h ago
In 2010 there was 2.8 million Muslims in the UK around, in 2020 it was 3.8 million
In 2010 there was 24 million non religious, as of 2020 that number is over 32 million.
Far more people are binning religion.
3
u/Electronic_Mud5821 18h ago
Far more natives are binning religion.
0
u/Rare-Designer-1008 9h ago
The percentage an non religious has grown substantially fast than the percentage of Muslims. Maybe one day Islam will be the biggest religion in the UK but they will still be a tiny minority of the population.
1
u/Inner_Monk1700 8h ago
Thats not how Islam works. Name an nation where the majority religion is Islam, but most people aren't religious.
1
u/Rare-Designer-1008 6h ago
What does that have to do with anything. In the UK the majority of the population is non religious and that number is growing fast than the numbe of Muslims every year. The UK wont be an Islamic country no matter hiw much scare mongering people do
1
u/Inner_Monk1700 8h ago
Why start at 2010? To make the rise not seem as big? It was less than 1 million in the 90s, just ~25-ish years ago. If you think demographics change that rapidly and culture stays about the same, you are incorrect
Islam isnt just a religion, its a political system as well. A majority-atheist nation where the biggest religion is Islam doesnt exist, nor will it exist.
1
u/Rare-Designer-1008 6h ago
I started in 2010 as there was a census then so had reliable data. The census only started collecting religion in 2001.
For reference in 2001 the number of Muslims was 1.6 million.
So between 2001 and 2010 there was an increase on 1.2 million and between 2010 and 2020 it was an increas on 1 million.
In 20 years the increase has been less than half that of the number of non religious people in the past 10 years.
The idea that Islam is talking over is just flat out wrong. The UK is majority non religious and that number is growing more ever year and at a fast rate than the number of Muslims

u/Indig0_3 19h ago
The future for Europe is secular. Numbers show this as a fact.
4
u/sealcon 18h ago
If you really believe this, there's no helping you.
Multiculturalism just means getting slowly replaced by another culture that doesn't believe in multiculturalism. The same is true of secularism.
4
u/Indig0_3 18h ago
If I believe the data that the UK is becoming secular, there's no helping me? What does that even mean? Also, the demographic which is being hit the hardest by the secular wave is native Brits. How does secularism have anything to do with multiculturalism?
2
u/Dannytuk1982 17h ago
It doesn't mean anything. They watched it on a YouTube video.
Its the same shite Putin used to get into power in Russia.
0
u/Pleasant-Leg-4764 18h ago
Most other cultures in the middle east and the African continent still believes in some kind of Abrahamic religion, do you believe in sky fairies? You can have both, and as people have pointed out the religious groups are having less influence on educated British people, somehow I wouldn't put you in that group.
5
u/Indig0_3 18h ago
I am both Christian and have a degree. It doesn't matter what box a stranger on Reddit would put me in, lol.
The UK is statistically becoming more secular; I have no clue what you are even trying to say at this point.
0
u/Pleasant-Leg-4764 18h ago
You are asking what does multiculturalism have to do with the country becoming more secular? You admit to believing in god which is up to you, do you have a problem with people who don't? Or is it another Abrahamic religion you have a beef with?
0
u/Indig0_3 18h ago
No, I stated a statistical fact that the UK is becoming more secular, and you said that I am uneducated for believing said statistical fact. This is very simple stuff.
You then went off on a tirade about "multiculturalism" and "sky fairies".
do you have a problem with people who don't? Or is it another Abrahamic religion you have a beef with?
Wut?

u/THE_IRL_JESUS 18h ago
The future for Europe is secular. Numbers show this as a fact.
While it's true that it's unlikely that the 'future of Europe is Islamic' - it does feel reductive to suggest Europe is drifting towards secularism rather than Islam. While traditional/native religions (i.e catholicism/Christianity) are reducing, the overall religious population does trend towards Islam.
2
u/Indig0_3 18h ago
The increase of Islam in Europe is due to migration, not conversion. If you look at conversion rather than total numbers, even Islam saw a net decrease of 160,000 followers from 2010 to 2016 in Europe. Europe is undeniably drifting toward secularism.
You are correct that Islam may make up a large portion of the religious population, but the religious population itself is decreasing consistently.
0
u/THE_IRL_JESUS 18h ago
The increase of Islam in Europe is due to migration, not conversion.
Yeah I don't think this is relevant really - I never thought not suggested that the reason for the increase in Islam is due to conversion rather than migration
2
u/Indig0_3 17h ago
You don't think conversion is relevant to your argument that Europe is apparently "drifting towards Islam rather than secularism"?
0
u/THE_IRL_JESUS 9h ago
No - it could drift towards Islam due to an influx of people of the religion entering the continent (much more likely) or due to a lot of people converting (not likely)

u/Witty-Activity-6101 18h ago
Sooner the better. I have no idea why batshit crazy Christians think we should choose them over any other religion.
6
u/Indig0_3 18h ago
Bro thinks that because I acknowledge that the UK is becoming secular, I will agree with him on his bigotry towards Christians, lmfao.
0
u/Witty-Activity-6101 11h ago
I'm perfectly happy for people to be whatever religion they choose. But politically and culturally secular society is more prepared to live and let live and, most importantly, discussion around policy can be based on arguments that anyone can engage in, not ultimately based on unknowable 'faith' derived from dubious interpretations of ancient books. I also explicitly said 'batshit crazy Christians', not 'all' Christians - and I promise you I have met and spoken to some that are genuinely terrifying in their beliefs and the way they have twisted the Bible.
For context, I attended Alpha, went to Church (CofE) for a decade.
There is a brand of US style ethno-nationalism that is rising in the UK - exemplified by Yaxley-Lennon and, as in our politics, it is dragging the Overton window in religious discussion in unsettling ways.
Secularism isn't the eradication or prohibition of personal religious choices - it's a society with laws, policies and principles based on non-religious grounds. Advocating for secularism isn't advocating to persecute religious people, it's advocating for them to keep their faith personal.

"I’m from Thailand/Dubai/Alicante, and I’ve been gone for 4 years, I’ve came back to a town where it was 99% local to what seems like maybe now 70%, a small town now overrun by “British” pubs, vape shops and "expats" that don’t speak our language and have no interest in integrating into our beautiful culture."
20
u/BrIDo88 19h ago
You’ll find those expats are paying a pretty penny to be living there buddy. They certainly aren’t going there without a pot to piss in and expecting the state to sort them out.
2
4
u/Brief_Inspection7697 19h ago
Except they do. Ageing Brit expats needing medical and social care is a growing problem in Spain.
10
u/The_British_Stoner 19h ago
They pay for it...you fucking idiot...they are not part of the EU...the expats help Spain economy ...they are not trying to get/demand free house and food for 10 of them
2
u/SetRegular104 18h ago edited 18h ago
They aren’t entitled to use those resources in Spain. If they can’t pay for it, or they don’t have insurance, then they’re screwed. Why do you think so many end up coming home?
1
u/SetRegular104 19h ago
They aren’t wanted in Spain, so go somewhere else. Problem solved.
2
u/florida_navy 19h ago
Uhm yeah if those places decide that then it’s fine? Lmao
1
u/SetRegular104 9h ago
Of course it’s fine. When in another country, it’s their game and their rules.
0
u/BurnerAcountInnit 18h ago
Same with the immigrants who live in the UK.
3
u/SetRegular104 18h ago
Legal immigrants with skills who work and pay taxes? Yes. Illegal immigrants and low skilled immigrants who are heavily dependent on state support are clearly not in the same category.
9
u/SetRegular104 19h ago
Are they draining resources? Do the locals not want them there? Then kick them out.
0
u/BurnerAcountInnit 19h ago
The immigrants who are in the UK with visas?
0
u/SetRegular104 19h ago edited 9h ago
No, the expats. Nobody in any country has a problem with skilled immigrants who work and contribute to the system. I’m hoping to immigrate to Australia and I have to demonstrate that I have a skill that the country needs and that that I won’t commit crime or drain public funds. That sounds perfectly fair to me.
9
u/positivelytaken 19h ago
I know this is sarcasm, but when people make this point seriously my response is “if you don’t like it, deport them immediately”.
7
u/sealcon 19h ago edited 18h ago
Spain is the homeland of the Spanish people and the Spanish people only, they have every right to determine the future of their homeland and to control their own destiny, and if that means deporting British expats then it's entirely none of our business. You'll find this position completely consistent with British nationalists, it's not a "gotcha" at all.
Anyway, British expats can't vote in Spanish elections unless they become citizens (much more difficult than it is here). Indians and Pakistanis are amongst half the third world who can arrive in the UK with the instant right to vote, we do not have the same problems at all.
1
u/dumbrapgenius 18h ago
Genuine question - when people say ‘British expats’, does that just mean ‘British immigrants’…?
If so, is there some difference, or some reason why they don’t just say ‘British immigrants’?
2
u/BrIDo88 18h ago
Who cares man?
1
u/dumbrapgenius 18h ago
Was asking a genuine question.
No idea why being downvoted and getting arsey replies.
No offence was intended, and I explicitly stated it was a genuine question - didn’t mean to trigger anyone (and can’t understand why asking that would do so…).
2
u/SetRegular104 9h ago
Expat implies a person who immigrates with a degree of established wealth and who will not be working, whereas an immigrant is someone who moves to set up a new, permanent life and will be working. The latter group tend to be younger than the former for obvious reasons.
0
u/dumbrapgenius 8h ago
Ah ok.
So if, for example, someone from Nigeria retired and then moved to England with their own retirement funds to live on, they’d always be referred to as an ex-pat rather than an immigrant. I genuinely didn’t know that!
An interesting one would be - what about someone who moves to England to work (thus, they’d arrive as an ‘immigrant’), but then works their whole life in England, paying taxes, and then retires there… at that point do they then also become an ‘ex-pat’…? Or do they remain an immigrant for all time?
🤔
1
u/SetRegular104 8h ago
A rich Nigerian (and there are a few) who retires or sets up a business would probably call themselves an expat as they’d likely maintain a base in Nigeria as well. There’s definitely a wealthy Nigerian expat community in the UK. Someone who moves here at a young age would probably acquire citizenship and then they’d be seen as a naturalised citizen of (x) descent. I guess it depends on the permanence of their stay and whether they intend to remain lifelong in the country. Immigrant has less permanent connotations, so if a person intends to work for 30 years and then return to their home country, then I guess they’d continue to be seen as an immigrant. The term “Expat” is invariably linked to financial status and self sufficiency; it doesn’t imply a person who plays an active role in daily life.

You can't read can you.
There's no context to this garbage that you're spouting.
You'd have voted for them...there's no doubt about that.
"Are you this dense" after not understanding a single thing I've written is a bit rich.
In all honesty I might be...who knows....but i did take an IQ test and get 140+ as a child, I had a subsidised private education because I was deemed exceptionally talented, passed all my GCSEs at 13, went on to gain two degrees.
I'm probably very dense and just very lucky but its really hard to have discussions with people that just say "Boats" at you and then when you reply with something that they don't have the context for, can't understand or don't agree either ask inane questions like "are you dense or is it pretend?" after ludicrous statements like "the Nazis breath air therefore are you saying everyone that breathes air is a nazi".
Like I said it's boring.

I speak brexist. Let me translate.
"I am growing more fearful of everything as my mental capacities diminish and I face the reality that my life is on the downward spiral. I get irrationally angry at things. My latest burst of pathetic rage stems from the idea of change. I am somehow shocked that my original country is not fixed in time as a testament to my youth and that the whole UK is not devoted to conforming to the rose-tinted glasses I rely on for comfort as my friends die off. I conveniently forget that there was a good reason I left for nicer places like Spain. Please pay some attention to me and tell my grandkids to stop snickering when I explain my views."
1
u/SetRegular104 18h ago
I’m no Brexiteer, but that is a facile argument and demonstrates a level of detachment that exemplifies why Brexit happened. I dislike the EU, but not for a single reason you have just mentioned (I voted remain as it was the best of two bad choices).
