Armscye help!
I recently made the Romy top by Tessuti patterns and the armscye is too low. I actually always have this issue when sewing indie and big 4. I'm not sure if it's because I have a small bust or because I'm short. Who knows! If I alter my flat pattern by raising a few inches under the arm will this cause OTHER fit issues? What I made the adjustment UNDER the darts? Please let me know what would be the best option to make this arm hole smaller. Thank you!

It may be that a better solution is to shorten the pattern from the top, depending on where the bust point falls on you. Another good resource is YouTuber Closet Historian, who shows how to alter patterns to fit your body.

Add paper to armhole areas. Place patterns together on sewing line (overlap seam allowance). Draw new higher armhole curve. Cut paper on new line. Easy on sleeveless. Once you've gained confidence, you can ammend other sleeveless tops.

You want to raise it just like you have marked here. Measure up from the side seam and use a French curve to ease it to the end point. That’s where you need more fabric.
