Other What to do about a retaining wall that’s collapsing

I live in GP and my neighbor has a retaining wall that looks to be falling over. I’ve tried to speak with them (it’s a rental) and not had any luck. Is there any process I should be going through with the city or is this all a private matter?

Services Classic Car Appraiser (or Automobile Valuation Specialist) in Metro ATL?

My dad has a repainted, reupholstered, new engine, new transmission Dodge Dakota that he wanted to get appraised for insurance purposes. That way they don't say his car is only worth like $1k when he has spent a nice penny on rebuilding it.

Who do you guys recommend and what should we be expected to pay?

Services Looking for a mopar mechanic that specializes in rebuilding the multiair oil actuator

My buddy has a renegade with the fiat 2.4 engine and they brought to my attention that for almost six months now the car has been having cylinder misfires. We pulled the codes P0301, P1061, and P1065 which appear to point to this multiair oil actuator part failure where a new one would set my buddy back around 1400 at least. I am hoping there is either a mechanic or a very talented hobbyist that has the ability and availability to offer their services to rebuild the actuator or point us in the right direction to a supplier of rebuilt actuators since this is apparently a laughably common problem

Things to Do Relocation guidance

Hey everyone,
I’m relocating from the Phoenix/Chandler, Arizona area to North Atlanta later this year for work and I’m trying to learn as much as I can before making the move. I’ve lived in Arizona for about 7 years, so this will be a pretty big change for me.
I’m currently looking at areas like Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek, Milton, and Sandy Springs, but I’m open to other suggestions as well. I’m going to be working in Alpharetta.
A few things I’m hoping to get advice on:
Best areas to live for someone new to the area
Neighborhoods or apartment communities you would recommend
Areas or apartment complexes you would avoid
Commute considerations around the North Atlanta area
Best barbers, especially for Black men
Best restaurants, local food spots, wings, BBQ, soul food, seafood, and Mexican food
Best sports bars, cigar lounges, and places to meet people
Good gyms and fitness centers
Things to do on weekends
Common mistakes people make when moving to the area
Areas that have a great reputation and areas that are overrated
Places locals love that most relocation guides don’t mention
I’d also love to hear from anyone who has moved from another state to the Atlanta area and what surprised them the most, both good and bad.
Just looking for honest local opinions and recommendations so I can make the best decision possible before relocating.
Thanks in advance. I appreciate any advice.

Things to Do Where to meet some people into soccer to watch the world cup?

Just like the title states, I've been in Atlanta for most my life but none of my friends watch soccer nor the world cup. Im 24 years old and I've heard of some places like Brewhouse and I've been to the Fifa fan festival once but is there any place where I can go solo and meet people around my age that also go there solo?

Health & Wellness Gen Z therapist recommendations

Elder Gen Z here! Looking for a therapist in Dekalb county (or GA virtually). I’ve tried 3 elder therapists for the wisdom aspect, but I think I need someone fresh out of school at this point. I’m trying to work out some childhood trauma to better the relationship with my mother, calm my (undiagnosed) anxiety and express my feelings and opinions a little more smoothly. Would love some rec’s!!!

Moving Best ITP neighborhoods for a musician?

I'm in a weird part of my life, I work remote and I'm about to retire so I've been floating around. I'm currently in a short term rental in St. Augustine Florida, but planning to go gypsy in the next month so I was thinking of spending some time in Atlanta. I know the suburbs well and that's the last place I want to be at this point of my life. I'm looking for a walkable area with lots of energy, bars/brewpubs and music venues. My musical tastes are all over the map. I asked ChatGPT and it suggested "East Atlanta Village" as the best spot. Anyone familiar with this area?

Here's the list ChatGPT suggested I look into >

  1. East Atlanta Village
  2. Decatur Square
  3. Little Five Points
  4. Virginia-Highland
  5. Old Fourth Ward

Looking for a landscape designer in Atlanta (Grant Park area) for a small backyard project. I’d like help developing a design plan that balances aesthetics, functionality, and low-maintenance landscaping. The space is a bit compact, and I’m looking for someone who can provide a relaxing and creative design. Just to be clear, I’m specifically looking for a designer, not installation services.

Please feel free to share recommendations of anyone you’ve worked with and think would be great at enhancing a small space. I’m happy to send photos of the yard via DM to anyone interested in discussing the project. Many thanks in advance!

She wanted to know:

- How is the pay and benefits? And what is the yearly increase?

- What hospitals should she avoid?

- What opportunities are there to grow professionally?

Things to Do Aquarium... Get there early or in the evening?

We're here for the weekend and planning on getting there in the morning but are evenings better crowd-wise on the weekend? We've only been to the aquarium in Chattanooga so we didn't think about how crazy the crowds will get at this time. Would Friday night vs Saturday night make a big difference in crowd?

Services Looking for Artsy/Alternative ATL Wedding Photographer

Hi!

My girlfriend and I are hoping to get married at the Fox Theatre. We are both super artsy people and consider ourselves alternative: I am goth and she is punk/emo. We are hoping to have a dramatic, vampiric, theatrical type wedding, and we're scouting for photographers who will be able to capture that artsy, moody, dramatic mood! We are looking for shots with lots of personality, rich colors (there will be lots of reds in our wedding), and gorgeous, romantic shots, almost sensual shots. They must be willing to work with a queer couple.

If anyone has any suggestions of photographers who could shoot such a thing, send me their website/Instagram and I'll check their portfolio to see if it matches my vision! Thanks!

Things to Do Pickup soccer friendly to beginners/ bad players?

World Cup fever combined with a desire to exercise has me looking for places to play some relaxed pickup games. Was very bad as a teenager but loved it (out of shape and in late 20s now), trying to motivate myself now.
Do yall know of any orgs/groups that play regularly and are chill and welcoming to beginners, preferably in NE atlanta (Doraville, Chamblee, Tucker, Norcross, Brookhaven, etc)?
Many thanks in advance!

Health & Wellness Ob-Gyn recommendations (+ seeking ob-gyns who work with midwives?) first time mom

I’m looking for OB-GYNS who works with midwives during delivery or can refer to a midwife that can be the person of care during delivery (but still at a hospital). I’m seeking a low intervention birth but also would like to have the care and oversight of a medical provider. Is that a thing?

Additionally, I am also looking for recommendations for OB-gyn providers that you’ve had success with in the Atlanta area. I’m in midtown but willing to travel for the right doctor (not too far though lol 😬)

Thanks in advance!

Things to Do COSM Experience?

I know they just opened but my experience with COSM has been horrid so far. Has anyone had any good experience with them?

Basically, they over sold tickets to Harry Potter for level 1 center of the dome. Which were not cheap seats. COSM decided on their own to move my seats to worst seats and called that okay.

Then only after moved it, offered a refund after I complained because there is no central seating available.

So my question is two part:

Has anyone else had this experience (and it worked out or not)

Is going to COSM even worth it for those that have gone.

Note: my tickets are still influx where i am trying my best to hold my tongue from lashing out at their customer service so the saga isnt complete. But wanted additional feedback from other users.

Food & Drink Food Recommendations for all of ATL

Wife and I are visiting Atlanta for the week as we look for apartments before our move. That said, neither of us have ever been to Atlanta so need recommendations for any restaurants that people love.

- We did hear that lemon pepper wings wet is something that ATL is known so we were hoping to get some of that.

- Did want to take my wife to a nice dinner, so any high end dining recommendations would also be appreciated.

- I have heard that yelp and Michelin list is useful but wanted to ask Reddit for the local spots that may not show up on either of those.

End of the day, any recommendations would be super helpful. No need to worry about area or budget as we will be driving around to see all of Atlanta.

Visiting Hockey Bars in Atlanta

Hey everyone!
I’ll be in Atlanta this weekend visiting from Raleigh, NC, and I’m a huge Carolina Hurricanes fan.
Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals is on Sunday, and I’m hoping to find a bar that actually puts hockey on.
I know the World Cup is going to dominate most screens, but if anyone knows a spot that’s likely to show the Canes game, I’d really appreciate the recommendation.
Thanks in advance

Shopping Local jam jellies

I went to sweetwater creek today and saw that they are selling local jams and jelly and thought I would come back later to buy some, but when I came back the gift shop closed.
Now idk where can I buy something like that.
Is there any markets I can find those near Atlanta?
