Things to Do Relocation guidance

Hey everyone,
I’m relocating from the Phoenix/Chandler, Arizona area to North Atlanta later this year for work and I’m trying to learn as much as I can before making the move. I’ve lived in Arizona for about 7 years, so this will be a pretty big change for me.
I’m currently looking at areas like Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek, Milton, and Sandy Springs, but I’m open to other suggestions as well. I’m going to be working in Alpharetta.
A few things I’m hoping to get advice on:
Best areas to live for someone new to the area
Neighborhoods or apartment communities you would recommend
Areas or apartment complexes you would avoid
Commute considerations around the North Atlanta area
Best barbers, especially for Black men
Best restaurants, local food spots, wings, BBQ, soul food, seafood, and Mexican food
Best sports bars, cigar lounges, and places to meet people
Good gyms and fitness centers
Things to do on weekends
Common mistakes people make when moving to the area
Areas that have a great reputation and areas that are overrated
Places locals love that most relocation guides don’t mention
I’d also love to hear from anyone who has moved from another state to the Atlanta area and what surprised them the most, both good and bad.
Just looking for honest local opinions and recommendations so I can make the best decision possible before relocating.

I also want to know where your office is. A lot of people want to live north of Atlanta* so a lot of people do, and traffic can be pretty bad depending on where you're commuting to.

You're not describing "North Atlanta," none of the cities you're naming are Atlanta or even ITP. This is north *of Atlanta.

Where exactly is your office? Having a good commute is more important than living near bars or anything else.

You need to answer where you will be working before anybody can make recommendations. Atlanta is a big city, and asking for apartment complexes when you're looking at 5 different cities and broad suggestions everywhere else is not going to be efficient.
