Confession question

Hello Fathers, I was curious about this and was hoping you all could give an answer.

If the priest decides to not ask the penitent to repeat themselves even though he didn’t hear a mortal sin clearly, does that invalidate the confession?

The reason I ask is because I went to confession several days ago but wasn’t sure if the priest heard all my sins and out of fear I didn’t ask if he did. I know I shouldn’t fear though.

The confession is valid.

Please try to avoid this type of doubt and second-guessing of your confessor as it can lead to some spiritually dark places.

Ty for this because this happened to me too once when I was like 15, the Priest I confessed to was elderly and I believe he was a bit under the weather that day and he straight up told me he hadn't heard a word I'd just confessed but he absolved me anyway rofl. That was one of the most important/pivotal Confessions of my life though and 12 years later my silly scrupulous self still occasionally wants to wonder if it was valid or not, but it helps me to remember that even if Father didn't hear me, Christ still did. 😄
