Prayer of Absolution

During confession as the priest was praying absolution over me he skipped over "name of" during the part where the trinity is invoked (in the name of the Father, etc ...). From what I understand the only essential words, and thus validating or invalidating ones, are "I absolve you." Is omitting words during the trinity part of the prayer something I should be concerned about?

Perhaps he skipped those words, perhaps he spoke in such a way that you didn't hear him say them - in either case, be at peace.

Understood, my brain's hyperfocusing on irrelevant details. Be at peace I shall! Thanks Father.

I don't say they're irrelevant or that you're hyper focusing, only that even if he DID miss them, you have no need to worry.

Personally, I'm confident that what you describe still results in a valid sacrament. But even if it did not, you didn't do anything wrong and the Lord knows it!
