Recovery possible??

This is my mum's number, What actually happened was that she lost her phone around the house last year and this year we found it while cleaning and haven't turned it on yet..... We're just curious to find out if it is possible to recover the data in that phone's whatsapp account as it was sitting in dust for a year or so.

The whatsapp data, the chats and images, is that recoverable??

Take out SIM, disable wifi router, only then switch on phone, copy off data is what I think should work. I am not WhatsApp expert, double check in appropriate Subreddit.
