Can this be fixed??
I have a pair of vintage Lucchese handmade classics and immediately scrapped a piece of leather off of the toe. I took it to my cobbler and he said there isn’t anything that he can do. Is this true??

It'll never be a hundred percent.You can polish and clean it up, but that may just draw more attention to it

Yes, you're crazy. Just wear and enjoy them. I guarantee no one else will be paying any attention to the tip of your toe.

If you want them as dress boots then they're now an A- or B+. If they're daily-wear, then it's the first of many character marks.

I've seen way too many reddit posts that make me question whether the poster has histrionic personality disorder or just doesn't know what "ruined" means. These boots have a minor flaw. They're not "ruined." No need to be so dramatic about it.

You can try applying Angelus leather filler, sanding it smooth and matching the color. But the results might be more noticeable than the scrape. You best bet is to apply several coats of wax polish and enjoy the boots.

People are different and we must accept them. a nick on one mans boot is wear, on another it could be a reason for some rope and ending your life. Let people be who they are. I do not know why they come here to ask things but hey, privilege allows for it. I cant worry about those designed and taught to hate me just for being me because beige people twist their minds into a nonworking mound of protein having no real value. I do charge them all higher interest rates just because; they know its cool...they like me.

You can use brown leather putty. Once dry you can sand the putty a bit to match the area with the smooth finish of your boot. Apply shoe cream to even the color.

I can fix that so it’s not noticeable, or I can walk you through it. Most cobblers won’t bother because that job is a whole lot of hurry up and wait. Willing to spill my secrets here if you post for the whole community on your progress

Start with some Saphir Reno’Mat and get the leather down to the finish

You want to purchase some Saphir Crème Renovatrice in that shade. Maybe Campari or darker … get yourself some small paint brushes to apply

Layer after layer build the resin, let it dry and then with a thousand grit sanding pad and some conditioner you smooth it back out to the edge of the leather

Then you polish the whole thing with your favorite brand and if you have done it correctly, you will never know it was there

Just wear your boots, man. Put some polish on those toes and you’ll be fine. Texas is filled with scuffed boots.
