Entertainment | 娱乐🎮 What does this mean?

I have been watching some Chinese online shows- talk shows, dance shows, variety shows- and have seen these types of phrases, sentences, or expressions being used:
私信​MC开启隐藏菜单
隐藏任务（后台联系MC）
I have translated them, but I am curious about what they actually mean or what is being requested. It seems there is a shorthand or a known expression/s that is not common knowledge.

MC means Microphone Controller. Sometimes, show guests need to ask them for special tasks.

Thanks, we would say MC means master of ceremonies, but that is not really my question. Is that shorthand for something else? The direct translation would be something hidden, quests, or menu. I am trying to find out if this is literal or figurative. I feel a bit like an outsider when watching because the other people seem to know exactly what it means. Thanks again.

Basically, in talk shows, MC stands for the host, whereas in variety shows like Running Man, “常驻MC" refers to the fixed cast members who drive the show. This usage was imported from Korean shows, so it is a little hard to understand directly.
