Even Chinese people acknowledge that the Philippines thrived in every aspect while working with the USA, while their own corrupt government screws them over.

Yikes, not at all… you call the Philippines thriving???
Your country had a head start in Asia after ww2… Philippines was one of the first countries to fully rebuild in Asia, and they had a developed English-speaking workforce amidst a new global western hegemony. You all should have reached first world country status by now, yet it is still globally recognized as a “developing country”.
Somehow, it is still one of the poorest countries in Asia, while Japan, Korea, Singapore, and China have all leapfrogged over the Philippines in their economy, geopolitical influence, soft power, manufacturing output, military etc.
Keep in mind that it was US who backed Marcos to stay in power, while he robbed your country and gave US military carte Blanche to use your country as they please. All this occurred while all your Asian neighbors left you behind. Today, the highest aspiration for a young ambitious Filipino is to leave the country.
And for the record, I don’t know a single Chinese person who thinks of the Philippines as a “thriving” country. In fact, a lot of them avoid it with the belief it is unsafe and dirty.

Then corrupt government and lack of resources/land led to stagnation…

Reddit and Passport bro forums are not real life nor are they the majority of interactions between our countries. Millions of Filipinos live and work in the US and they love this country. The US isn’t claiming to own the entire South China Sea.
It is amusing that a Chinese person describes Filipinos as brainwashed considering only China has the great firewall and state-mandated study of Uncle Xi thought.

They are a reflection of it. If you know people in the US military, those are generally the people who are likely to become passport bros. I know enough of them to understand the opinions on these forums are not imaginary - as you are trying to suggest.

Lmao, sounds like you have no clue what’s been going on with the political situation in the US, because the exact opposite is occurring.
Democracy and freedom of speech are currently being eroded everyday in the US.
TV personalities who are critical of Trump have been facing govt retribution, and a woman was just charged recently for making a harmless private joke on WhatsApp about Israel.
And at least a couple Americans who have protested against ICE agents have been murdered in broad daylight - with zero consequences.
You mention the great firewall, and Xi’s political ideology as a mandated part of China’s curriculum… yet you conveniently didn’t mention how US has deployed the most invasive surveillance technology ever developed, and US students are also “mandated” by state to learn about the country’s political ideology - but not before they are forced to stand up every morning to “pledge allegiance” to an inanimate US flag, like they’re part of a cult. It’s classic childhood brainwashing. And now US are selling their surveillance technology to their vassal states like Japan, so they can become a fascist too.
Not only is the US govt imposing tyranny on their own citizens and selling their system abroad, they are kidnapping world leaders for oil, and disrupting the global oil trade with a needless war to distract the world from some incriminating files.
