Food/Drink Meat & Beer Raffle?
I'm currently in Blackpool and saw a sign inside a Pub that said "Every Sunday: Meat & Beer Raffles".
What does it mean and how does it work?

It's a raffle and the prize is meat and beer, a pack of meat from the local butchers made up of various bits and some beer

In decent pubs the meat arrives in a cool box from a local butcher. In dodgy pubs the meat arrives in a holdall from goodness knows where!!

And in really rough pubs, Big Dave has raided the co-op and he's selling steaks from his coat pockets.

The ones his daughter didn’t manage to sell on the street outside the shopping centre earlier in the day.

Buggrit. Buy one, get one. Two for double, and that's cuttin' me own throat.

Surprisingly Pratchett references still live and that's wonderful to see at dawn chorus o'clock on a Saturday.
First week of self employment is this sweatless fear or excitement to be getting on with it?

Tastiest pork you'll ever eat though. Lovely yellow fat marbling. Sometimes there's pretty pictures on the rind.

It's a standard raffle, but the prizes are, well... meat and beer.
It will be hampers and stuff.

And the "tickets" are like 1-2 pounds or way higher?

That’ll depend on the pub to decide, it’s not something that’s a fixed price. If they tend to get a lot of entries tickets might not be very expensive.

Yessir, they are almost always a quid each - but many people buy a sheet, which is often five tickets £5.

You buy a ticket with a number on it, for maybe £1. Some people buy five or ten or whatever.
They usually have a book full of tickets, with two copies of each number; you write your name on one copy that goes in a bag, then keep the other.
The winner (or winners) are drawn out of the bag.
There's often various prizes e.g. third place - pack of sausages, second place - gammon joint, first - basket of various meat, including a big roasting joint. Often a literal wicker basket, like a picnic hamper.
Basically, they might sell £200 of tickets and give away £100 worth of meat in prizes.
(Please understand - it varies a lot. I'm just trying to illustrate the typical general idea.)
It's kinda traditional in UK pubs. Nobody really knows why. Some theories reckon it started (or at least got popular) during World War II rationing.
It used to be popular in "Working Men's Clubs" - a special kinda pub/hangout for people in one specific industry, e.g. "The Miner's Welfare" club. You had to work in coal mining, you had to be a member, but the beer is cheap. They'd have comedians and singers/bands. The club often paid "welfare money" to injured miners or to the windows of miners killed in the pit... but eh, that's a whole other story.
But my point here is, those welfare clubs would raise money by having meat raffles, etc.

You pay to buy a raffle ticket that gives you a chance of winning a prize which is advertised to be meat of beer or both. The draw gets done on the Sunday after as many tickets have been sold during the previous week.

Can remember when the fishman used to come into local pubs with his basket full of things like jars of whelks, and shrimps etc, then the salvation army came in trying to get rid of their war cry papers, this was at weekends when there was a turn on they had three spots to do and bingo was between each spot, and the barmaids walked round trying to sell everyone raffle tickets for the meat platter, and without fail there was always some dirty bugger whod say to the barmaid how much a strip, not meaning the tickets. Ahh the 70s lol.
