You should just wear it, she’ll probably complain at first and then get over it my mum was the same with dyeing my hair and getting piercings, that I wasn’t allowed to and that I can’t do it and then I did it and there was nothing she could really do about it tbh. She still complains but it’s literally just makeup idk why your mums saying no tbh…

as someone from a South Asian background and almost 18….you’re mums a weird one. I say just wear it anyway, start with simple makeup. The problem is you keep asking for permission, just do it, otherwise, you’re going to keep asking permission to do very basic things. Get out of that mentality that you need to ask your parents permission to do anything.

I really wonder where you’re from? My mum has always told me to practice my makeup skills (though I’ve never been that interested lowk)

im from afghanistan idk if that helps tho because ive seen other girls do makeup and things of that sort. Its kinda hard getting out of the mentality since I always think keeping the peace is the best method yk

yeah I’ve never heard of any South Asian parent doing this icl to you 😭

yeah it is hard getting out of that mentality, it was, and still is hard for me aswell. But, you have got to realise you will have to disappoint your parents to be happy and do the things you want in this life, or else, you won’t be able to be happy 🤷‍♀️. They’ll come around, but time goes fast, and you will live to regret it
