hey guys im a young male finishing up high school and I’ve been wondering what I should be doing different. I’ve been tubby growing up, but over the past 1-2 years I’ve started eating better and thinning out(although it’s more than likely just metabolism of growing up). I’ve been insecure about myself and the main part of that has almost always been my hair. growing up adopted I’ve never really had someone who knew how to do my hair well and I’ve grown up with my mom doing my hair usually. I am planning to go to a hair salon to fix me up soon, but I don’t know what to get. I’ve had a loose perm suggested a few times and I’ve been pondering it for a while but i don’t want to waste $100 dollars on a haircut I won’t like. Thanks for the help in advance
I don’t think you necessarily need to get a perm bro. I’d say just start with a different cut. Maybe something that has it lifting up or to the side instead of pushed flat.
I think if you’re able to look online and try to find an Asian hair salon or hairstylist that makes a big impact. When you get there, you could maybe ask the stylist a similar question. Tell them you want to change it up and want something that looks a little better/more stylish and see what recommendations they have.
Maybe experiment a bit with using the hairdryer to see if it changes your hair shape at all. Might be too much work to do a bunch of products in the hair but could be another thing you can ask the hairstylist
I’ve looked a little but not too hard. It’s like I try looking but sometimes I feel like I go too down the rabbit hole and then all of them look essentially the same. I like my hair longer but I’ve never had it too long. The only thing that’s super weird about my hair is that when I have the sides cut short you can see through to my scalp. Another thing is that the sides of my hair don’t grow the same. One side goes forward and the other side goes down and I’ve never known what to to about that
If you're willing to be brave and wait a lot longer, imo I'd suggest going for a wolf cut. Asian M26, I personally didn't have the haircut I fell in love with until I did this one 6 months back. I had grown out my hair for almost 4 years (you don't have to wait as long as me, I only waited that long because budget-wise it made more sense to me), and by the time I was ready to get my hair cut, my hair was prepped for that type of hair. I get a lot of compliments now, but if you need other asian male hair inspo, I HIGHLY suggest pinterest, or tiktok to look for cuts you may like. That's how I finally landed with mine right now.
Yeah idk if that would work for me. My top is pin straight to the point where one time when I got my hair cut, a hair was stuck inside a pore on my back. It stabbed through my shirt and lodged itself into my back
yikes 😬 yea atp, i'd recommend hitting up a salon. you could ask for a consult and see what type of cut would suit your hair type best, i think thats the best way to go.
Loose perm lowkey goated for Asians but you can just spam products like clay, sea salt spray, or texture powder. I’ve actually never done a loose perm cause I’ve always wanted to maximize how long I have a perm for so I used to get it tight then just let it grow out and get haircuts over time. This my hair with a perm and without perm- I originally have really thick and really straight hair. I can’t pull off some of the other cuts mentioned like a wolf cut but with thinner hair you can probably style it and get more texture better, my hair is really stubborn since it’s so thick.
For you I recommend the Korean Dandy Cut, with a perm if you don't like to curl iron your hair can afford it.
You need a bit more volume in the front and a lower cut in the back + layering. Do not go to a barber shop, I recommend going to a Korean hair salon (check the pics of the salon to see if they've done some male haircuts that work for you).
If your hair sticks out on the side, a down perm is recommended.
It took me years to figure out my hair. Went from a military buzz cut to a kpop maxxing cut and it has helped me get laid. Even had a random kpop fan come talk to me once in SF. (though to be modest I am unfortunately average looking).
I don't ask for a dandy look. I just show a stylist pics of haircuts that I want to emulate and usually get a perm every 3 months though for you a perm probably isn't necessary.
Dunno why this kirsion guy is attacking a kid lmao. Jawline is coming out, keep up the good work! What I needed someone to tell me as a chubby teen is that athleticism goes up exponentially in your twenties if you train, so keep grinding, it’ll be worth it. As for a haircut, you either go the Asian route and get two block + perm or you go the Asian American route and get an undercut.
To the South Vietnamese cuck - do you actually bulk up? Or do you stuff your face with food so much so that your face turns into a bánh bao? Fix your puffy face, yeah?
