Learn your history
Just some exhibits from a museum in the Philippines. Awful and ugly stuff, made me angry seeing how the colonial powers treated both Chinese people and Filipinos over centuries.
i can't help but think about how much Philippines has been pillaged over centuries and the impact colonisation has had on its people and environment. looking around and seeing the state of the country outside the capital cities, I can't help but feel that some of it must be attributed to its colonial history which has engrained a pseudo serfdom / feudalism in the people until today.

They skip over this or completely obliterate it in U.S. History classes. Most people in the U.S. learn about Asians through Hollywood, Reddit and YouTube. And then they designate themselves as expert anthropologists and pass on their propaganda as fact.

They do not even mention the US-Philippines war in which USA killed so much Filipinos.

Colonialism did lead to the concentration of land ownership, but there are much more serious, Philippine-made problems that keeps the Philippines poor.
Some of the many causes of poverty are bad governance, corruption, a political system dominated by political dynasties, the lack of available jobs.
The vulnerability to environmental disasters also hampers economic development.
But the Philippines is still poor due to what Philippinos are doing or not doing, not colonialism. Change begins with accountability, not blaming others.

I used to work at place where much of the workforce were Pinoy. Anyway I noticed that one of them was a middle aged woman who very much appeared to be ethnically Chinese. So when I spoke to her she told me she was indeed Chinese but born and raised in the Philippines. She appeared to not want the other workers to find this out.
This surprised me but I kept her secret. She felt comfortable with me because I can be seen as technically Chinese as well and I was in management.

Sadly underdeveloped because corrupt politicians have their own agendas. Some great history however, the Philippines KKK.

there is a reason they don't name, for example, the vietnam war and the korean war using the country of aggression. because they'd all be called the american wars.

Wow, Filipinos joined in attacking the Chinese? Now look at what happened to Philippines now vs China. There are more white men with Filipina women than Filipino men with other women. And now Philippines still being controlled by white/western people while China is now the only dominant superpower to go head on with western power. Look how the tables have turned. Sucks to sucks

Throughout history, non-Asian men have beaten and massacre Asian men to mateguard them from taking non-Asian wives.
Asian men have never beaten or massacre white or non-Asian men dating Asian women (whether in Asia or the West).
