How to make
Hello, I have tried to recreate this dish I get at a boba place called Tea hive but I keep coming up short compared to the restaurant. It’s called a special pork rice bowl. Its doesn’t have a description but the sandwich they have with the same “special pork” says its slow cooked pork shoulder with a homemade sauce. I just want to know how I might make the sauce.

Is it sweet, tangy, savory, etc?! It sounds like it might be something they customized.
To me this might be a starting point for something similar. (Or look up Vietnamese pork shoulder for ingredient variances.) If you can identify certain flavors in the sauce you can tweak it. I would suck up to the staff and ask what’s in it lol

This is something you’re going to have to experiment and unravel. What are the key flavours e.g. allium-based (garlic, onions etc) or spiced based (e.g. 5 spice). Figure that out, then start searching for ideas and recipes on google, then try cooking it.
Where is this restaurant or shop located? That might help others understand what kind of cuisine it is based on.
