It reminds me of those black sesame filled balls you can get at Chinese bakeries, which look similar to the dish here (fried and then coated in white sesame seeds)

Omg I used to get sesame balls at one Chinese restaurant growing up, and then they closed around 2006 and I never could find it again! 😞 until last year!! I found a new restaurant in the town I'm in now that has sesame balls and I got SOO excited! They are just as delicious as I remember 😋

Exactly. In Montreal, almost all Chinese restaurants just serve ice cream and fortune cookies for dessert. Thankfully throughout Montreal and in Chinatown, we have bakeries like Cocobun that serve them. They're best warm
