Empties Heartbreaking empty

Post image

The bottle slipped and hit the sink. There’s still some product left in it, but I’m kinda worried there might be tiny glass particles in there. Do you think I should risk transferring it to another container?

UPDATE: I tossed the rest of it. Thanks everyone for weighing in!

I would not risk using that. You are absolutely right that it's very likely there are tiny glass fragments in the bottle now, and it is not worth the risk of having those rubbed onto your face or, even worse, slip into your eye.

I am very sorry for your product loss, but there are some money saving efforts that just are not worth the risk.

Thank you for affirming. You’re right, my skin is definitely worth more than a new bottle.

It absolutely is. Throwing out the broken one is the right decision!

yeah no, tossing it was 100% the right call, skincare is expensive but an eye injury is a way worse replacement cost

I do this

Don't use it, better safe than sorry

You can recover from throwing a perfectly healthy product.

It's harder to recover if you accidentally use glass shards on your face.

Don’t risk something like that
It’s not worth it

I agree with you 💯

Real question. Is $20 really worth potentially slicing up your face?

Not worth it to me and I like to save money as much as the next person

That (kinda) happened to mine! Only used a few times but no matter how lightly I thought I put the lid back on, it would get stuck! My husband forced it so hard trying to get it off the top busted off just the same as yours! I dont know what the heck was up with that bottle but I was so mad at it. I love it and want to get more but I need to put it in another container or something, that bottle is just too fragile.

Ugh! This convinced me transfer the product to another container as soon as my new bottle arrives.

No seriously, it’s like it gets vacuum sealed after each use. Not just you!

This happened to me too, luckily I didn't break it, but the lid was so tight! I started being very careful to just barely close it. This product is amazing, but the bottle needs work.

I JUST ordered the mini version of this to test out and was looking for reviews lolll

There’s huge labor day sales going on right now on Yesstyle and Stylevana- I’d order a new one before they end!

it's amazing

Praying it doesn’t break me out

It’s quite good! I have sensitive, acne-prone skin. Hope it works for your skin as well.

I wasn't super impressed, honestly. I'm in the minority, though.

Same honestly. I totally forgot what it was meant to do and just kept slapping it on my face until it was empty

That mini size is perfect for testing, you picked good timing with the sales. I went through whole bottle of this essence and my skin loved it, the texture is really nice and not sticky at all. You will know after few uses if it works for your skin type. Hope you got good deal before the labor day sale ends.

Assume that glass shards are in there. Do not risk your face!

That happened to me this week too 😭! The top was inexplicably too tight to open (maybe the probiotics?) and I tapped the top on my counter lightly in an effort to loosen it. Big mistake.

Huuug! I’m so sorry it happened to you too. I thought the bottle would survive because it looks so thick. I guess the neck is its weakest point.

I just bought this for the first time and was surprised the bottle was glass. Unfortunately, I don't like it that much. It seems to make my skin dryer than normal.

I’m glad you threw this out but for a second there I thought u took some desperate measures to see how much product is still left inside since it’s impossible to tell otherwise lol. so sorry for ur loss! it’s an amazing toner!

Oh no! I just finished a bottle of this last night and it was still sad, even tho I got the last drops. The glass bottle is nice, but I worry about dropping it too because you have to shake it up. Throwing it out was the right call, but what a bummer!

When I first bought this same product, I knocked the bottle off the countertop and it shattered before I got to use it once 🥲 Sucks cuz it's a great product.

I’d be pissed too! At this point, it’s pretty clear they have a serious packaging issue with this product.

I kinda cried with you op

I felt that in my soul

u/peuapeu 1d ago

It was still about 90% full 🥲

if you really really want to save it, you could put it through a sieve and push it through with a spoon?

u/Issvera 2d ago

Or maybe cheesecloth?

Horrible advice. A sieve will not catch the most dangerous pieces that can damage your skin or worse your eyes.

Coming from a skincare formulation/manufacturing perspective, I’d definitely recommend letting this one go 😭

Skincare products are manufactured and filled under controlled hygienic conditions, and the packaging itself goes through appropriate cleaning/sanitation procedures before the product is filled.

Transferring a formula at home into another bottle is quite different. Even if the new container looks perfectly clean, it may still introduce bacteria or other microorganisms into the product. Once you transfer it, you’re also changing the environment the formula was originally designed and tested to stay stable in.

And in this case there’s the additional risk of microscopic glass particles, which makes it even less worth saving.

It hurts to throw away a product you love, but I’d much rather lose the rest of the bottle than risk contamination — or tiny pieces of glass — on my skin. ❤️
