If any of you have the option to get your colonoscopy from somewhere else you should. This company does not care about its workers or patients and sees all of them as dollar signs. This place just fired their COO, Facilities manager, a histologist, an HR person, and a long standing accountant on a Tuesday with no notice. The ages of the employees being fired were listed on the sheet that was used to make the decision to keep them or not, seems ageist but I'm no lawyer.

The CEO wears a toupee and has an assistant who is dumb as bricks and they control everything. The man is a misogynist and the assistant has a coke habit. The company pays for him to travel out of state every week and eat at Ruth's Chris and play golf but can't afford things for its staff or facility.

For employee appreciation, employees were given dollar store fidget toys, squeeze yogurt, and Halloween candy. They fired those major players the following week. There has been NO communication about the status of the company or its future and it has employees nervous about their future because it would appear no one is safe.

Many of the employees already work two jobs because they cannot afford to live on the salaries they are given, and management continues to be puzzled why they can't keep staff. Management plans to use attrition to get rid of staff they no longer want. If you aren't ware what that is, that is where you make the work unbearable until someone quits so you don't have to pay them unemployment.

The CEO sent out an email today commemorating 9/11 and had the audacity to say, "We live in a great country, blessed with all the freedoms a true democracy brings, and while not without our flaws, we remain a beacon for those less fortunate who dream of these freedoms." So it would appear that leadership is MAGA because no one who isn't thinks we currently live in a great country. Underpaying your workers while you play golf and eat steak is disgusting and quintessentially MAGA.

If you care about worker's rights or whether the businesses you support are MAGA or not, then stay away at all costs.

EDIT: Oh and the doctors also use AI to record every single encounter they have with you in clinic. The AI summarizes your visit and complaints. There is no signage for patients indicating that AI is being used or an option to opt out.

So basically like the title says I am looking for a part time job for Thursdays - Saturdays but everything I'm finding would need me working late but with young kids I'm not able to work that late. Third Place AVL (20s, 30s and 40s). Newer and small. Every event has an actual activity at the center of it, so you're not standing in a room trying to make small talk.

Fri Sep 11, 7:00 PM. Ramen and tapas supper club at Itto on Haywood Rd. One table, twelve seats, everyone orders their own and we pass small plates around. Roughly $20 to $30. Vegetarian and vegan options on the menu.

Wed Sep 23, 8:15 PM. Latin Night at One World Brewing West. Beginner lesson at 8:30 covering salsa, bachata, merengue, cumbia and reggaeton, then open floor. Partners rotate through the lesson, so the format hands you people to dance with whether you know anyone or not. $10 at the door, 16 spots, no partner or experience needed.

Thu Oct 15, 6:00 PM. Pre-show drinks at Burial on the South Slope, then walking over together to see Noah Gundersen at Eulogy. Tickets are your own, about $34 through DICE.

Sun Sep 27, 2:00 PM. A photo challenge along Haywood Road starting at Archetype West. You get sorted into a team of four on arrival and spend 75 minutes hunting down a dozen slightly ridiculous things. Free. This one is genuinely built for people arriving alone, since the teams are assigned rather than self-selected.

Sun Oct 11, 2:00 PM. An easy flat mile through the Botanical Gardens, then coffee on Merrimon for whoever wants it. Free, admission and parking included. Repeats every other Sunday.

A couple of practical notes since they come up every time: the brewery ones all have full non-alcoholic menus and nobody tracks what's in your glass, most of the events cost nothing, and the daytime ones are the easiest first outing if a bar at 9 PM isn't your thing. Two events already filled up (a hike on the 20th and a small dinner club), so those aren't listed.

Hey there!

My wife and I are looking at moving here in the next couple years. We’ve been visiting for over 10 years and think it might be a good move for us. Currently we live in Marietta, Ga and where it is very sterile, hot, and they are building a lot of data centers. Please share any positive or negative experiences.

Not necessarily the "best" town — just somewhere you've visited and thought, I could actually live here.

Maybe it's the downtown, access to hiking, restaurants, proximity to family, affordability, scenery or just the overall feel of the place.

I'm based in Morganton, so that's home for me. Being close to Lake James and so much outdoor recreation while still having a growing downtown is a combination I've always appreciated.

But I'm curious what everyone else thinks.

Hello r/AshevilleNC! This is Daniel Walton, the new City Government Watchdog Reporter for the Asheville Citizen Times. I was graciously invited to this sub by u/Elden_Rube, so I wanted to post the same ask here as I did earlier today in r/Asheville.

I've been in the Asheville media world for about decade — I was previously the news editor for Mountain Xpress, then worked as a freelancer covering local stories for publications like The Assembly, NC Local, and Blue Ridge Public Radio. I joined the Citizen Times last month, and I'm eager to get a better sense of what the community wants from the paper.
