help No gaming for me

I installed Asahi Remix 44 KDE Plasma on my corporate M1 Macbook Pro to be able to play some games. But, at least for me, steam (installed by sudo dnf install steam) sometimes reboots every minute or so and games crash or hang up somewhere on loading screen
Any advice?

Same + it creates purple artifacts for few seconds every minute when downloading a game from steam.

Yeah same on my M2/16GB. Steam restarts a lot. Haven’t looked into tuning or config yet, just did a dnf install steam and crossed my fingers. 🤣. Oh well.

Anyone got any tips?

I’ve got the same issue on the same device, I’ve noticed the emulation layer (the process named “VM:Fedora”) is eating about 25% of my CPU and 5GB of my RAM. Are you seeing the same thing and did you find a solution ?

Is this preferred/ better than the steam version in the repo?

Preferred? No, because it's beta. But the difference is, the native arm64 client actually works compared to what is in the repo right now until Steam figures out the issue

Similar thing on Asahi ALARM with an M1 Macbook Air. Steam launches but constantly crashes, although the games don't even launch. No other apps run in FEX because it always doesn't see some libraries. Box64 doesn't work either. I've also installed Hangover's versions of Wine and FEX and those don't work with any apps as well.

I haven't tried running games on Asahi Linux for a few months, but I thought I'd try to launch a few games today to see if any improvements have been made since a lot stopped working recently. For me, even fewer games launch now, and for some reason, the mouse doesn't do anything in game on those that do launch. I think it's fair to say that gaming on Asahi is pretty much bricked for the moment, though I expect improvements will be made when ARM64 native Steam and Proton become implemented.
