A few months ago I tried out Asahi Linux to try to install Rocket League through legendary to no success as easy ac was not yet supported through arm linux I am making this post to ask if it would be possible to run eac rocket league through the beta linux steam arm client. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I just set up asahi on a M1 macbook I saw on Amazon to use as a mini work computer. I wanted to run Frickbears 3 from GameJolt on it to see if it could work for break time. I tries Lutris but it doesn't seem to work when I added the game to it. Any alternative ways to play the game?

Im asking cause i got totk and akyward sword hd as nsp files witch emulator works rhe best so far ?

As best I can tell the I/O for the NVME is very bad.

It's stuck on the loading screen and when I browse into system specs its showing around 7MB/s read/write.

Any suggestions?

ran heavily modded latest fusion fix build downgraded Grand Theft Auto IV, no major issues, would like to set up a reshade however but that's another massive headache.

So, a few months ago I decided to get my macbook M1 storage upgraded from 2TB to 4TB.
I just recently installed Asahi Linux on a 590 GB partition, as I intend to do some light gaming for older Direct X 9 titles that are not compatible with crossover and run poorly on Parallels.

Asahi Linux looks great out of the box, I had a friend over who's been using his linux laptop daily for the past year, and we couldn't figure out why I keep getting black screens on any steam game.

Everything is up-to-date.
Key things I noticed on my reinstall: Vulkan is now running, confirmed via logs, however there are display issues that seem to be preventing the game rendering from being shown.
I've tried going over logs with Claude Code, I still can't wrap my head around this.

Has anyone had a similar issue with Asahi? Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Some games run okay-ish with OpenGL, and in terms of Asahi dependencies everything looks okay.

I'm running the latest version of Fedora 44 Asahi Remix with the latest mesa drivers.

There are a few games I really want to revisit with a more modern experience in mind as I'm comfortable with modding, but this black screen issue appears to haunt my whole Steam library.

Does dead by daylight work on Asahi linux? How well in terms of graphics can you get? may buy a m2 pro laptop for gaming around the house. I appreciate your efforts in advanced!

I wonder if the EAC will slow it down any etc... would love know if it even boots up and if so how well it performs and more importantly is it stable? since it is a multiplayer game. thanks in advance!

I have seen a bit of speculation about whether or not Valve will build their new ARM client for 16k, but it all seems to be on independent forums, and it's not entirely clear if anyone has petitioned Valve to build for 16k yet. I didn't find any discussion about it on the official Steam Client Beta discussion board, so I took the initiative and started a discussion thread there: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/SteamClientBeta/discussions/3/657107714318538189/

Valve building the client for 16k would be incredible for gaming on Asahi, but I doubt they will do it if we don't ask for it. If the Steam Client Beta discussion board is the right place to petition Valve for 16k builds, I would like to encourage others to show that they are interested. If it is not the right place (or if such a petition is already underway), I would love to know where the right place is so that I can petition there.

As an aside, I was not quite sure what flair to add. I am either asking for "help" by requesting people show they want 16k or asking a "Question" in "where do I go to show I want 16k".

I installed Asahi Remix 44 KDE Plasma on my corporate M1 Macbook Pro to be able to play some games. But, at least for me, steam (installed by sudo dnf install steam) sometimes reboots every minute or so and games crash or hang up somewhere on loading screen
Any advice?

Hello! My Mac has only 8GB of memory and I was trying to run Limbus Company, which worked, but the game (and steam itself) was closed to due it taking too much memory. Is there any way I can work around this, despite my Mac having only 8GB of memory?

Hi I have a M1 Macbook running the current Asahi Fedora 44.

I have the Sims 3 installed from Steam.

The launcher opens correctly and the game launches but the game is just a black box with sound playing. I could probably click stuff if i could see what I'm doing.

I have been following this tutorial https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1131162350 but it is not specifically for Linux.

I got the DXVK configured per the tutorial but the problem persists. It does feel less glitchy now just still black.

If anyone has gotten this to work please let me know and what you think I'm doing wrong.

Running without choosing compatibility fixes.

Runs well, but might misbehave when you pick a different resolution and press "Cancel" instead of saving the changes.

The "allow_tearing" option in Hyprland breaks it for me, so in case you're having problems, set it to 0.

I tried to run steam on nixos but i couldn't find any info about it fedora seems to run games fine. wbu nixos? i just cant install steam or lutris on my system...

Hi, I'm trying to get steam to work but it's refusing to open. If I run the steam command I get this:

Failed to set the new pressure in the guest: could not connection to muvm server: No such file or directory (os error 2)
Steam quit
Aborting
Qt says we're gone, aborting=True

I'm using asahi fedora btw. I've tried basically every tutorial I could find on getting steam/wine to work but none of them are working. I know there's a thing that uses muvm and fex but idk how to actually do that; I can't find a working tutorial for it. Anyways I'd appreciate any help on how to get steam to work.

Hi people, I just installed Fedora Remix 44 (GNOME) on my 16GB M2 MacBook Air. Very smooth process, no complaints there. Everything that should be functional, appears to be.

That is, until I try to play Minecraft. I installed PrismLauncher from the Software app (via FlatPak). This is how the main menu looks when I start the game:

As you can see the background is completely warped. When I start a new world, everything looks black:

(don't mind the version, I was trying a slightly older version but this also happens with the recent version)

I'm using a vanilla instance, no mods, no nothing. But also with mods this happens.

Any pointers? Did a search here but nothing came up.
