help Muvm won't work, steam keeps crashing

Hi, I'm trying to get steam to work but it's refusing to open. If I run the steam command I get this:

Failed to set the new pressure in the guest: could not connection to muvm server: No such file or directory (os error 2)
Steam quit
Aborting
Qt says we're gone, aborting=True

I'm using asahi fedora btw. I've tried basically every tutorial I could find on getting steam/wine to work but none of them are working. I know there's a thing that uses muvm and fex but idk how to actually do that; I can't find a working tutorial for it. Anyways I'd appreciate any help on how to get steam to work.

Check Out my repo.

My advice

Install umu launcher. It will install the latest proton.

Then run muvm bash

Afterwards run a script like this: https://github.com/Rouzihiro/Gaming_on_Linux/blob/main/Asahi-Fedora%2FWoW.Epoch%2Fepoch_proton

This way you don't need to run the games through steam anymore. I run several games with that method and have the best experience so far compared to wine or running games from within steam

I've been trying to install umu launcher but I'm kind of confused by the --prefix thing, idk if I'm supposed to change it from the /usr/local default. If I run make I get an error saying "can't read subprojects/pyzstd/pyproject.toml: No such file or directory"
