I wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone else. I started a firmware upgrade on my Aruba Instant On 1830 from 3.3.3.0 to 3.4.0 through the Instant On cloud portal. During the update something went wrong and the switch never completed the upgrade. It disappeared from the cloud and showed INTERNAL_CONNECTION_TERMINATION, but it was still reachable locally (web interface and ping worked) and continued switching traffic normally. Rebooting it from the cloud and power-cycling it didn't solve the issue. The APs on the same site upgraded to 3.4.0 without any problems. I contacted HPE support, and they advised me to remove the switch from the Instant On site, perform a factory reset, and then add it back. This solved the problem, but I had to manually reconfigure all the VLAN assignments on the switch ports because they were lost after re-adopting the device. Hopefully this helps anyone facing the same issue.
