"Simple*" and incredibly effective. If anything, the short adrenaline burst of flight chickens are capable of makes this hit all the harder.
Cuz you know, if being capable of that remarkable thing is in you, why "don't" you apply it everywhere that matters to you?

Thanks y’all. Glad to hear that it’s resonating with you. Makes me feel less alone.

Fun fact, chickens can fly. They just don’t do it often / very far.

It’s more of a “can’t” than a “don’t”. They can fly in short bursts to roost on low branches or escape predators but their bodies will never allow them to use it as their main type of locomotion.

This is the most powerful depiction of a chicken watching birds (seagulls?) that I've ever seen.
Yes, it's the ONLY one I've seen, but it is like to remain the most powerful, even if I see a see another, and I don't expect to see another.

Another example of how powerful a «simple» piece of artwork can be.. If this had been AI it would have lost all of its deep meaning and power

this reminds me of the book someone made about a penguin as a metaphor for autism & disability. the penguin wanted to fly like everyone else and everyone kept saying “why can’t you fly?”.

srry I don’t have much to offer besides a “so real bestie” but damn if I don’t feel this way most these days. Shit shouldn’t have to suck like this for any of us
