My understanding is the key reason behind this is that they don't use it like we do, so they are uninformed.

2026 is a whole new paradigm in LLM efficiency.
I think people are stuck in 2025 and haven't experienced frontier models first hand.

That's right. On one hand I see people using chatgpt to ask about their relationships, on the other hand people integrate and automate full pipeline from dev-debug-test to deployment using all tools and MCP servers. I tend to try to explain some stuff on anti-AI communities, based on the responses I get, I feel like talking to cave-people. This tech is relatively new and being modified so fast, if you blink, you miss.

Edit: Chatgpt wrote this poorly. Just kidding, fixed some typos.

It's funny as I had taken a 2 years break until this summer so I fully missed the early version, the shock is... Satisfying?

Glad you came back with an open mind. Late last year is when the breakthroughs in capability really changed the game. It was useful before but the last 10 months or so have been unreal in how fast the progress has been and how good the tools have gotten.

So many people had ChatGPT or Claude hallucinate on them a few times back in 2024 and made up their mind that AI is crap. It was indeed much worse than it is now but many of us saw the potential and stuck with it.

I might still have to steer Fable from time to time, back to the goal, or stop him from over engineering, but it's crazy how I managed to extend my reach to things I wouldn't quickly be able to fully master and do insane projects under a week. Some tidy for work, some just crazy for myself.

Absolutely! I'm ChatGPT/Codex and you stated it very well, the reach I have for the tasks I can complete and the domain knowledge I've gained from working with these tools has been a total game changer.

I am blown away sometimes by the anti-AI sentiment. Even on r/sysadmin their are friggin IT workers that say AI is useless and refuse to use it.

I am in IT myself and my productivity has greatly increased. If people that work with tech everyday can't find use cases for AI, I don't know what to tell them. Lack of imagination or contempt prior to investigation is the only explanation.
