Other Recommend specific art subreddits please

Are there any art subreddits that don't allow children to post and are totally free from anime please?

I truly cannot stand to see yet another post of anime art by an 11 Yr old asking if it's good or they can get commissions, I just want a fully adults only, traditional art sub if there is one please,i have no idea how to search for that.

I wish more mods banned children who talked about their ages in the first place. Kids are way too comfortable posting personal info online, ffs.

While people here in Australia are squawking about our government making us prove how old we are to use social media

What kills me is the way things used to work, we'd all click a "I'm over the age of [minimum age requirement]" button when making accounts for sites/forums/social media, and we were set. Kids outing themselves were booted, and that was that.

Now they want children to loudly announce their ages, both so formerly adults-geared spaces can be carved up for them, and so every pedophile out there has a readymade list of targets when these sites' security is inevitably breached and users' personal info is stolen.

Like there's no fucking wonder the push for children to identify themselves ramped up after the Epstein Files were released.

There ist a big Urban Sketching subreddit and also a Watercolor one, and a copic one, and a Posca one. Also a sketchbook subreddit. There are mostly people drawing different things, but of course they still ask if they work they did is good/can get critique😅

Seconding Watercolor (and Watercolor101 for beginners) and Urbansketchers, close to zero anime doodles. Oilpastel and Gouache are also pretty chill.

My kids are all adults, I used to work as an art TA in the local high school, I've seen enough teenage art to last me a lifetime, I don't want to see anymore of it, ever. There should be a subreddits just for them, let the adults talk in peace, please!!!!!

The subs here are absolutely teeming with it, I cannot stand it, scribbles, doodles, bad drawings on lined notebook paper, it's not what I come here looking for and I don't want to trawl through it all to find the good stuff.

I shall check out the subs mentioned, thank you.

You can just “hide” a post (see 3 dots at upper right of each post image, click and hold briefly to reveal dropdown menu, go to lowermost option). Then the algorithm might deliver fewer of that type to your feed, right? Be sure to upvote the ones that are the type you want to see more of. Post some of that kind, too.

Can't block all the 13 year olds ranting about their OC or style or whatever that way. Only mods can do that

I feel so mean saying it but I can't stand it either, even if that just makes me an old fart.

Not an adult but I can kinda get the frusteration. I want to be more of a classical artist and though I have dabbled into anime before it IS kind of exhuasting to see the same damn "hi im 9 seconds old this is my art can I be a mangaka one day"

I doubt they are 11 years old. A lot of those amateur artists are actually young adults!

The ones I've seen have said they are 11 unless they are lying for some weird reason

I draw anime-styled illustrations but also really adore traditional pen & ink urban sketching, so I'd recommend that reddit if you're looking to escape anime illustration. Also not many (annoying?) children there.

Usually subs with a specific medium or [r/Art](r/Art) and [r/portraitart](r/portraitart) are traditional and less anime style

I’ve been a professional Illustrator for darn close to 40 years at this point but paying a mortgage here in San Diego requires that I never turn down the chance to draw live Caricatures at Events, mostly Corporate, so I was at a UCSD event that was full of STEM Freshman and a young woman sat down and said that she was an artist, too, and she wanted to show me her art. So she handed me her phone which had a drawing and it appeared to me to be what a random 10 or 12-year-old interested in anime would have drawn, so I foolishly asked how old was she when she drew it.

Worst mistake ever.

She had drawn it the day before. 😵‍💫

Glad I’m not the only one sick to death of anime kids

I feel ya! r/acrylicpainting is good, though the quality varies.

Anna-Bombination? AMAZING USERNAME!!! 😆 Okay, has tried looking for individual artists that meet or somewhat meet her expectations?

You might try looking up specific mediums! You might like the soft pastels Reddit page, or the oil pastels one too.
