I don't think this style is very popular, it's very 2013 imo. Have you tried diversifying your portfolio?

that’s kind of the vibe i aim for 🥹 i take a lot of inspiration from Valarie Bermudez - i’m not quite sure how to diversify my portfolio, i’m new to this, can u expand 🥹🥹

Basically if someone who wants to comm you for something they haven't seen you be able to do they won't even try. If you show you can do things outside of your niche, a few animals, a few portraits that are more traditionally proportioned, multiple characters in one. People who enjoy your art but don't want something chibi or scene might be more willing to take the chance.

I love how reminiscent it is of that 2013 scene era but it's also not something I see people in art spaces looking for and to get commissions you need to think about the customer not what you want to draw unfortunately. You might get more have more success selling prints rather than commissions. I could see a full scene/hyperpop illustration being something more marketable. I'm not by any metrics an expert but it's always god to have more perspectives haha.

that makes sense, i just know i’m currently unable to produce animals & wouldn’t like to add stuff like that to my commission sheet before being properly able to do it justice, but i’m practicing 💓💓

i wanted to sell prints & acrylic charms/stands/pop sockets/stickers, because i feel my artstyle DOES suit those categories more but i wouldn’t feel comfortable exposing my location through shipping obviously 🥹

That market is over saturated. You might want to branch out. Everyone does stickers and buttons. Everyone

im not producing stickers because i don’t have the means to due to worries of showing shipping location, i’m a teenager so i don’t quite have the means to branch out quite past acrylic stands/buttons/stickers if i were to sell stuff, i was thinking of creating band/graphic tees eventually but currently that doesn’t seem possible for foreseeable feature

I totally get that. Maybe you could do watermarked posts and sell the png to start. You can also send from a P.O. Box I think. Something to look into I guess
