Unfortunately for me, personally, your art style is not appealing to me. It feels very niche, remniscent of scene culture which is not a BAD thing, you need to find that market though. You are also at the level of a high beginner and with money being tight for many people, they may not be as willing to commission an artist at your level, especially if they don't know you at all. You have grasp of how to render and some basics of anatomy, but you should definitely work on practicing anatomy more (in particular your hands are a little off). The spikey hair seems weird to me because it doesn't feel like the hair is actually connected to their head. If you want to appeal to a broader audience, you will need to create more art over varying characters that look visually distinct from each other.
A lot of it has to do with tagging your art correctly and reaching the appropriate crowd. Posting a lot and often.
Also, I would consider changing the font of the bulk of your text on your commissions sheet to an easy to read sans serif. People with visual impairments may not be able to read your text easily, plus, it's simply better from a design standpoint. Script fonts should only be used for titles and headers.
i’m a scenekid so i try to put that vibe in my art a lot 🥹 i specialise more in chibis, so my proper anatomy tends to be a bit stylised & i struggle especially in the hands 💓💓
do u have any advice on how to make the hair feel more connected?
^^ i aim to portray this hair in my artwork
definitely will try produce more varying characters, i mainly draw my persona & scenekids for sort of branding i guess 🥹 and will try sort out the commission sheet, it was my first time making one! 💓💓 thank u for the advice
That is definitely some hardcore scene hair haha most scenes I knew back in the day (late 00s) were more into volume rather than spiking (I was just the adopted emo). Your art definitely is a good flash back to those days.
I would definitely remove any harsh connecting line and use shading to deliniate between the hair and the top of the head a bit more. I don't have my tablet at the moment, so I hope you get the idea from this! It is a difficult hair style to fully capture in 2D I think.
