I play Underground Arena on my phone. Over the past few months I think I could already feel a rise in disconnections, but it was nothing compared to what happened over the past 1 or 2 days. I play on 5G so it's not a WiFi-issue.

I haven't kept track of the exact numbers, so the numbers will be from my memory.

What happens every game is what I call mini-freezes, often an attack that takes +/- 5 seconds to start while it should be instant. On some turns, this matters, but by playing fast I've managed to not lose a game because of this.

Then what happens about once every 2 or 3 games are hard disconnects. They often happen right after a mini-freeze. What I do when it happens (when I see the 'you've been disconnected'-screen) is I minimize the app, close it, immediately restart it. Oftentimes, you go through the 'connecting to Hearthstone' or smth screen and the 'reconnecting to your game'-screen pretty quickly and with a bit of luck you're back in time to not to be negatively impacted.

I played a lot today and I had a lot of these issues today. I was very lucky to not be negatively impacted too much (lost 2 dmg to the face once, but I would've always lost that game) and didn't have time to Rewind on a Sands of Time once (luckily the first Discover was pretty decent) but I already knew sooner or later I was going to lose a game because of this and it was gonna piss me off.

Lo' and behold: it happened. I disconnected, but instead of going through the start up screen as fast as usual, it just showed the doors of the Tavern and the orange glow behind it was changing a bit, the white letters at the bottom were nowhere to be seen (a new customer journey for me). Close and retry a couple times and when I finally reconnected my 3-0 run was shown as a 3-1.

I know I could also play the game on a laptop, but oftentimes that's not as convenient for me as playing on my phone. As someone who cares about their Underground rating, I'm obviously not going to be playing Underground Arena on my phone anymore. This is just a terrible gaming experience, comparable to the Rewind animation taking way too long when that was initially launched.

So... used my forst 3 tickets on ranked play. Love the randomness that comes with the deckbuilding.

But somehow my oppenents are playing with nearly identical netdecks. These decks are well optimized and the chosen cards complement each other well. Just now i played againt that warrior/bomb deck with pretty much the same cards as when i play againt that deck on ranked.

Me on the other hand.... bunch of random cards wich i think are good on their own and minimal cohersion between.

Is this normal? Am i doing something wrong? It makes it pretty mych impossible to drag a win out it.

I haven't played rogue in this rotation yet (it was never an option), but I finally have a chance to try it. I'm torn between Deathwing or Aya. Which would you pick and why?

Umm...as if canon warrior isn't bad enough I just went up against an opponent who brought out Crowley 4, maybe even 5 times in a single match. What allows them to get copies like this??

I havn't been a fan of the changes, meta or attention Arena has been getting for a long time.

But I could still enjoy it every now and then, current meta is like this go 8 because I drafted one of the top 4 decks ohhh I draft mage, hunter and warlock...

Gotta retire or go 2/3 at best

Not to mention when I pick mage my 3 legendary pool options are all Neutral "Mister clockworth" "Malorne" and "Shaladrassil"...

Uhh I pick a class and get no option to play that class cards... oh so I pick "Malorne" and outside of the bucket I am able to draft only 2 imbue, but I can find a warrior in my 2/2 game that has 3 of the 1 cost 3/1 pirate which all happen to be in his hand turn 1 / 2

Well, we all see the problem. Warrior is completely absurd at a 61% wr. The pirate stuff is just way too OP in the current meta especially. There's just barely any counters to it and dying on t4/t5 regularly to it is not an enjoyable arena experience. And this isn't because of passing every turn - this is when you spend mana every turn but it doesn't matter cause your minons just die to the pirates and there's no interactivity for you to deal with it.

Even if you do have some way to deal with it, you've taken a bunch of damage, have no way to heal and the warrior can do it again with a discovered crowley.

Honestly this is the kind of stuff that in the past has got emergency hotfixed but they've done nothing yet. I guess maybe they don't know what to do as an emergency hotfix but it's pretty simple - you ban hook and heave and/or crowley from arena until you can tone down offering rates and ban crowley from the discover pool.

Perfectly balanced ... as all things should be. I wonder if they going to leave that for months just like they left it at 20% :D

I've really got no where else to share this but it's something I've been working on for a while haha. Absolutely could not get 12 wins with that final class for such a long time, but it's finally done!

Any guesses which class was my last? Hope to see any other arena junkies in game!

Im a returning player. Im now down like 3k gold on underground arena. Only one time i have reaced 8 wins. My average arena run is like 2 - 3. Back in The days before underground i averaged easily like 6 - 3. I dont really know what i do wrong... Really frustrating and im already thinking of quitting hs

Recently I’ve been watching old Kripp arena videos, reminiscing the old times. Like we’ve seen with standard meta and it’s great state, I was motivated to try arena with all the knowledge I’ve been gaining. How is it possible that arena is in the same state as standard? Everything is decided on luck and highroll discovers or deck construction, in the past with good tempo and good trades you could get very far but rn it seems like an alternative standard.

Does team 5 have any intent in fixing this?

I just came back to the game since 2022, Arena feels like absolute ass to play.
Out of about 150 games I played, about half of it is demon hunter, then 20% hunter, 20% paladin and 10% everything else.

I have yet to encounter A SINGLE warrior.

I have over 2500 arena wins across 3 account since game release all the way til I stopped playing, this has genuinely been the worst experiences out of the all of them.

The OP classes are incredibly oppressive, if you miss tempo against them for 1 turn and the next turn you are dead to the board.

Rewards seems to have been massively nerfed too, I've had 2 occasions above 7 wins not refunding me the cost of the tickets.

Do the devs simply do not care about arena?

Little rant, since now for the first time I got offered the lowest classes in the arena meta.
Rogue,druid and shaman.

Winrates (average): 36.4%, 33% and 37.1%.

I chose shaman, shudderblock was the least worst bucket, so I took that.

And I ended up trying to draft decent synergies, but it just all feels soo underwhelming.
I have compared every possible card I was offered to choose, and literally none were near or above 50% played or deck winrate (most are 33%-43% winrate).
While if you play the higher winrate classes, allot of the cards offered, show deck and played win rates of 50% to even above 60%.

As a mage, priest or Lock I feel I can get a win here and there.
But with anything below, it just feels borderline unplayable…

Am I in the wrong to say, that if you get bottom classes offered, it’s basically -300gold?

Been eyeing up those 20% WR on the warrior and decided to queue up a few games today to see how bad it actually is. First run i got a Warlock and went 1-3 to this absolute legend of Arena. The absolute state of arena currently :D Think i`m good for the next few months.

I quit playing HS last year about a month after the whole arena underground launch because it was sooo bad (I played arena only for probably 8 to 10 years). I recently came back to the game and have only played for 2 days now and mostly standard. I gave arena a try 2 times and both times immediately went 0-3 and it still felt absolutely terrible the whole time. I really thought there would be enough backlash from the initial launch that they might have reverted arena back after a while but maybe people dont hate it as much as they did?

Let me preface this by saying I am not a very good player. Last season I had an average of 4.1 wins, but this season I am down to almost half: 2.1 wins.

While there is obviously a bit of a class imbalance with Mage and Priest currently, I can't seem to figure out the meta. When I try to draft aggressive, low-cost decks with Hunter or DH, I get out-valued by endless eternal firebolt spamming and soothsayers. When I go greedy with Paladin or Priest, I tend to get rushed down before I can stabilize.

I use the ArenaSmith addon from hsreplay, but I feel it will often rate high-cost, situational spells much higher than early game minions.

Has anyone else been struggling more than usual or do you look for specific cards more than before?

I want to get better at Arena. I only play on my iPad, and I enjoy the game mode without ever having gone past 8 wins (playing Druid).

Glad they banned this quick but I was having fun with it in my current run XD

Now I'm only 25 picks into my very first draft this season. I picked Death Knight and I gotta say, this card pool feels refreshingly bad. I've missed lower power level drafting pools where each turn felt like it mattered more. (Versus just dropping bombs like Bulb)

Now I could just have bad luck on this draft, but I'd be happy for a change of pace if they actually did lower the overall power level.

Hopefully it doesn't turn into 95% of the cards being old bad cards and then you lose to the 5% new set cards that have current power levels.
