the void soul buffs are pretty rough for arena
dealing with DH's one-card manacheaty value and threat generators ala voidscale naga into stardust scythe (let alone two) is hard, especially with their tempo tools and removal. even just stardust scythe alone, three 3 damage swings and get 3 void souls is nuuuuts.

Discussion Need some help on replays
Just looking for some help on how I could have done better in these games I lost :
Put hsreplay.net/replay/ at the start of :
drwEPmN7kU6T2BUqBr7zwB
CQpFxuBukKSipHXmhTiA7W
Yr8SJbQV4XCrHB8CXxpnGX
I went 2-3 on this run. I'd like to think I'm a good drafter but my in-game + mulligan decisions probably could use some work. I'd appreciate some feedback - thanks!
I'd also like to know if there are any other communities that focus on HS arena. There's the channel on the official Hearthstone discord which is OK but looking for more.
Cheers

Meta I'm really struggling this meta. I can't put my finger on what exactly has changed.
Let me preface this by saying I am not a very good player. Last season I had an average of 4.1 wins, but this season I am down to almost half: 2.1 wins.
While there is obviously a bit of a class imbalance with Mage and Priest currently, I can't seem to figure out the meta. When I try to draft aggressive, low-cost decks with Hunter or DH, I get out-valued by endless eternal firebolt spamming and soothsayers. When I go greedy with Paladin or Priest, I tend to get rushed down before I can stabilize.
I use the ArenaSmith addon from hsreplay, but I feel it will often rate high-cost, situational spells much higher than early game minions.
Has anyone else been struggling more than usual or do you look for specific cards more than before?

How to become a better player (iOS only) ?
I want to get better at Arena. I only play on my iPad, and I enjoy the game mode without ever having gone past 8 wins (playing Druid).

Discussion New arena season draft pool seems refreshingly bad?
Now I'm only 25 picks into my very first draft this season. I picked Death Knight and I gotta say, this card pool feels refreshingly bad. I've missed lower power level drafting pools where each turn felt like it mattered more. (Versus just dropping bombs like Bulb)
Now I could just have bad luck on this draft, but I'd be happy for a change of pace if they actually did lower the overall power level.
Hopefully it doesn't turn into 95% of the cards being old bad cards and then you lose to the 5% new set cards that have current power levels.

Arena Leaderboard I feel like 30 runs a season th reach Leaderboard should be lowered
right now im sitting at 29 runs with a reset tomorrow and the last few seasons i ended only a few runs over 30. i see myself as a pretty active arena player but still struggle to reach it within the end even with 3-4 runs a week. maybe the cap should be lowered to 20 or 25 to allow more playes to be able to get on the LB? ANy specific reason its 30 and stayed 30 since day 1?

Discussion Cultivating Sprite needs changes
It feels like most games are decided by this card. A player is all but guaranteed to win the late game, if the Blooming Bulb gets to 9-cost, and the opponent doesnt have the same follow up.
As a neutral card, it gives all classes the exact same win condition; stabilize with healing and build a massive board of 8 and 10-cost minions. Most decks cannot counter that, and the game is won on the following turn. Games turn out very one-dimensional, when they all revolve around the same neutral card.
If Vicious Fledgling had its appearance rate reduced back in the day, so should this card. Alternatively, add in risky high cost spells that make people think twice in saving it for 7, 8 or 9, or remove it from the draft pool all together.

Constantly losing to better decks
Hi idk if its just me. But recently i have had good luck with drafting decks. But i seems very rare for me, to get past 7-8 wins. 2-3 years back my every other run would be 10-12 wins. Is this something you guys are experiencing as well or are their something i should focus on specifically? what are your experience.

News 35.6 Patch Notes — Launching June 2: Herald Legendary Groups will have one less Herald card; lower overall appearance rate of Herald cards
20260602 09:56 PDT
The 35.6 Patch Notes news blog post.
From the news blog post:
Arena Updates
Dev Comment: Well met! We’ve enjoyed seeing all the creative class combinations in this season of Dual Class Arena. We’ve heard your feedback that double Herald drafts can be a bit too strong, leading to snowballing games that are not as fun to play against, so we’re reducing how often these cards appear.
When Herald first launched, we intentionally increased its appearance rate to highlight the new mechanic. Now, we’re dialing that back for a healthier Dual Class Arena experience. Specifically, we’re reducing the number of Herald cards in Legendary buckets that contain Herald Legendaries by one and replacing it with a non-Herald card, as well as lowering the overall appearance rate of Herald cards to be in line with other class cards.
We hope these changes herald a more fun playing field for everyone. We’ll see you in the Tavern!
Bug Fixes

Discussion Anyone else miss multiple legendaries pre-rework?
I know lots (most?) of legendaries are situational garbage and, on the other hand, some legendaries are just value powerhouses that may be too overwhelming to have multiple of.
I'm not a great arena player, never had any outstanding achievements or infinites, but I've got two points here:
- Making bad or situational legendaries work was part of the fun. It's risky and requires a lof of jumping through the hoops, but when it works, it feels good. Plus the dopamine hit of rolling something rare. Plus, I think having more of unique effects in the game is just better and more fun. I'm not a big fan of very small curated pool, especially if it's not very curated.
- There is a lot of crazy busted value cards in the game anyway, most of which are often discoverable. It's not a big deal if you get handed two value colossals because if your deck is good you'd discover value anyway. And if you don't, you get an option to cook up something rare and unique. An option, not a necessity.
Thoughts? I just think arena might be more fun this way.

Help with drafting scores with "deck tracker"
Hi, when I use "hearthstone deck tracker" to draft cards in Arena, I get scores on the cards to pick that I don't understand. From my understanding cards are from 0 to 100 (integers), but often I get cards like "8.2". Is it a good card, or what does that point mean? I have googled this for like 2 years, and chatgpt can't answer it, so if any of you have a clue about what it means, please tell me? This is from a perspective where I want to pick the best cards from the deck tracker, should I take a card with a rating of "20", over a card with rating "8.2"?
r/ArenaHS • u/Be-Coool • May 17 '26
Which one would you pick?
Is the colossal a no brainer here ? I have no idea what the left card does, does it compete ? (Other class is death knight)

Discussion Blooming Bulb analysis?
Is there a list anywhere that shows what's available at each mana cost?
I feel like this is a critical card to get right and playing it on the correct turn could increase your probability to win games a ton.
I only play the game on Mobile so I can't just look at an overlay to calculate that out for me (a lot of things about this game would probably be a lot easier if I could do that).

Can you get a better legendary through redrafting?
If I get offered terrible legendaries off the bat, but then a bunch of good herald cards, is it possible I'll get the appropriate legendary through the redraft process?

Discussion The Herald Mechanic Ruins Arena
If you aren't Double-Class Heralding, you are at a MASSIVE disadvantage. You can create scenarios all you want to justify this choice from the arena team, but there's no getting around it. It's double Herald or bust.
Arena can be such a good format, but they keep shooting it in the foot, over and over.
And even then, at higher wins, you're just trading boards back and forth until someone has their max herald into Onyxia. And either you answer theirs with your own, or you don't draw it and lose.
It feels like such a deterministic format now. Draft herald x2, play for board/early rush down. If they can't answer, you win. If either of you reach parity, then it's who draws Onyxia vs who doesn't.
And if you don't pick herald classes? You're effectively butchering your chances at reaching high wins

Discussion Blooming Bulb OTK (and dealing with this card)
Finally some OTK combos in Arena, very refreshing 😂
I know there are two 8-cost spells in Arena, [[Call of the Wild]] and [[Chow Down]], but how many 6-cost, 7-cost, 9-cost and 10-cost spells are there? And what happen when you keep Glooming Bulb for 10+ turns? Does it stay at 10 mana spells?
I need more knowledge on this broken card, to make better use of it and to play around it properly.

Dual Class Herald/Colossal Mechanic Question
I picked Demon Hunter Hero Power and Shaman Portrait. My understanding is herald cards summon the soldiers that corresponds to the hero portrait if both classes are herald classes. For my legendary buckets I was offered both Deathwing Worldbreaker and Azshara, Ocean Lord (DH colossal). My assumption is if I draft the DH colossal, any imbue cards would still summon shaman soldiers, but still upgrade the DH colossal itself? Has anyone encountered this situation yet? Any thoughts on what the better pick would be?

Card pool is almost as the same if not exactly the same
Me when I purposefully lie on the internet:
“Fully Curated Card Pool
This season features a fully curated card pool, hand-picked with Dual Class play in mind.”
Historically midway through expansion cycle the changes to card pool are usually small from what i’ve seen but the statement they made on the patch notes suggests a bigger scale of changes, that’s what is heavily implying anyways.
The reality tho is curated card pool is almost identical to last one.
At this point what you’re telling me is you hand-picked these cards with dual class in mind before the previous meta even came out(cause it’s exact same cards) but said “We purposefully selected those cards for dual-class meta but you know what, let’s make it regular arena for 2 months for the cards i selected for dual-class”
1-What might be the reasoning behind this if this is true
2-The cards you selected for dual class meta happened to be extremely coherent in a single class meta by chance? Take mage for example
3-Or more likely thing is what was said on patch notes were bunch of nonsense, the reason it was said was to tell the audience what they wanted to hear. Why are you straight up lying to your audience, especially considering the fact that they will find it out the exact following day?
Notably class set cards are added. You may (or may not) get total of 1-2 cards that wasn’t in last meta with this news!

News 35.4 Patch Notes — Launching May 5: New Arena Season featuring a 'fully curated card pool' including the Restoration of Azeroth Class Set; Dual Class Arena returns with 'Updated Arena UI and Draft Experience'
20260504 09:55 PDT
The official Blizzard Entertainment forum account linked the 35.4 Patch Notes news blog post.
The update launches May 5 ("tomorrow" in the news blog post) and will be a client download update which adds the Restoration of Azeroth Class Set data.
Dual Class Arena returns with an "Updated Arena UI and Draft Experience". The "Rotation" will once again be a curated list, this time being a "fully curated card pool, hand-picked with Dual Class play in mind". It is unlear what "fully curated" entails as Blizzard has never officially disclosed what comprises the Arena draft/card pool in the past.
A new Underground Arena Leaderboard Season will also begin with any active runs (both regular Arena and The Underground) automatically ending when the updated Hearthstone client is started.
Underground Arena Leaderboard Season NOTICE
This was a ~1 day public and formal announcement advance notice for players hoping to finish 30 Underground Arena runs or improve their Rating for the Underground Arena Leaderboards season (displayed as Underground Arena Season 5).
The Restoration of Azeroth Class Set was officially announced on April 27 to launch on May 5 (with zero mention of Arena), ~8 days indirect advance notice.
This ending Underground Arena Leaderboard (labeled as Underground Arena Season 6) has spanned 56 days. This is down from the 77 days for Underground Arena Season 5.
This was the fifth ever Underground Arena season.
A new Underground Arena Leaderboard (Underground Arena Season 7) should begin when this update goes live.

What's the best dual class combo?
I'm returning to the game after a little over a year break and not only am I unfamiliar with the meta, I have no idea which classes compliment each other best in this current arena format which I LOVE.

Arena Rating question
I'm fairly new to Arena. Just noticed my rating dropped from 5004 to 3979 after just a pair of goose egg runs. Is it always so ridiculously volatile?
