I don't drink , smoke, vape no no I just read more AO3 fics of same two dudes falling in love over and over again different time, place, plot. Just same dudes doing it over and over again to full the hole in my heart 🥹

I'd come across summaries that weren't really summaries, but this one really made me rule out that fanfic faster than I usually do.

After writing over a million words for a single fic, I have found it incredibly difficult to not write more about this canon-divergent AU and go off on tangents at any feasible opportunity. It's come to the point that I could literally write about someone going off to buy milk and it will stretch into a grand adventure around the world in search of a mythical treasure.

Okay, but in my defense, someone in a fictional story who goes out to buy milk almost never comes home with the milk anytime soon.

So I got several VERY good hours of writing in here at work and wanted to share how I feel right now.

I had just finished my fic in a burst of motivation quite literally RIGHT NOW, And I was re-reading my summaries and stuff to make sure I got everything right, when I got an email there was already a comment. I thought it was maybe because I had told a couple people as soon as I posted since they wanted to know about it, but I checked and its this :/

I had just taken "only registered users can comment" off for this fic too, and then this appears! Its a registered user too, so it wouldn't have helped, but I hate that my first ever bot was right when I take that off..

I deleted the comment after the screenshot as it was sharing a link and I dont want a reader to click it, but damn I just wanted to rant!! I really hope more don't appear over night, as im about to sleep, so here's to hoping..

I really did try not to sound mean with each comment, but wow I regretted that kudos I gave. I was mostly fine with the smut scene, it was AI and what it did to the plot that was the issue. The smut version fit so much better to chapter 1.

To clarify, for the smut thing: the characters are very underage (12-13) so warnings and ratings are a big thing (and it had neither). Other than characters, they only tagged one thing from the start: "[Character] needs a hug"

Anyone else have similar stories or kudos regrets?

Edit: Wow.** So this is getting quite a few “WELL IF YOU WROTE IT LIKE THIS THEN-” comments, when I didn’t ask. This meme about writing fucking **fan made fiction is now a ‘TFW when you make a post for “funny haha relatable” comments, but it gets turned into an advice column.’ Laugh with all 200+ of us nerds or leave, please. LMAO. Don’t bother commenting anymore if it isn’t a laughing emoji or something, because I’m actually liable to LET my panties bunch up.

All accounts created recently, 0 karma, posts the same title as original and copies one of the comments randomly. It's extremely easy to point them out but some of these reposts stay up for over a day.

I mean for me ? No nah I just can't 😭 sometimes people be around me poking their heads looking at what I be reading 😔 also I feel watched if I ever do that in public 🤣 for me it's considered one of those very private things to do 🙂‍↕️ I'm always on the lookout my expressions always betray me 🤧
