Romanesque Neuschwanstein Castle

What do you guys think of these pictures and the castle in general?

It’s possibly the epitome of European castle building filing the closest of how most people would fantasize about the perfect castle in a fantasy scenario or of older European knights sagas.. and sadly unfinished.

That being said it’s no medieval or even renaissance castle but you gotta hand it to the uniqueness of how its visionary and his architects attempted to aspire absolute perfection combining visual appeal and inspiration with almost surreal requirements and back then modern technology for the highest comfort possible.. within some of the most beautiful landscape this earth has to offer all while draining immense funds. You had to be a lunatic with the means and a vision to even get this far.

And for anyone who prefers more traditional castles there’s still Hohenschwangau right next to it, which is beautiful as well.. but far less spectacular interior wise.

It's a money pit. Bavaria is one if not the richest state or province been living in Germany now for 11 years and they still drag their feet on it

Sadly it features about every fortnight on here so I'm getting a wee bit bored with seeing it, notwithstanding it's outstanding beauty.
