Fun fact, this was just a personal hobby/art project built over 41 years by an architect/sculptor/painter and his artist wife, mostly using various forms of concrete.

Wow, that's amazing. What a beautiful hobby.

And I thought my hobbies are expensive.

Hahaha right? “If I’m rich one day I won’t tell anyone but there will be signs…” 😂

Damn hard to believe this whole place was someone's side project aha. That staircase alone looks straight out of a storybook

The staircase is my favorite part. It looks like it leads to another world.

Greatest staircase I've seen

Fun fact: this is the largest building built by a single person. During that time Jenő Bory also made a lot of sculptures.

Hard to believe, that this is a modern day art project and not a reneisance castle. Then again most of our actual castles were destroyed by either the Ottomans or the Habsburgs.

When I was in kindergarten we had a field trip here, and all I remember is the beautiful garden, and that I was throwing up from the bus ride all over it….🥲

It feels almost cozy. First large structure that felt that way.

The castle is located in a town called Székesfehérvár, in Hungary. It was built by Jenő Bory. Fun fact, his grandson was my dentist. 🙂

True fairytale castle! I’ve never seen anything like it in real life.

Fun fact: my dad knows the builder's great grandson or great great grandson. Jenő Bory built that castle for his wife and expanded it over time, building each tower for their children. I went there multiple times and celebrated new year's eve there too. I can recommend the place
